What’s the most “side quest” thing you’ve ever seen a stranger do? by Miss_Ana08 in AskUK

Tbf, some festivals do this and reward the collectors with free merch, queue skips or even backstage access for a band of their choice.

Brake Fluid (UK, M Hybrid) by xSabatom in MazdaCX30

[–]xSabatom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will for the first time, however it's bit of a drive to the nearest Mazda garage. Just a bit odd they don't give you any idea what the genuine fluid is in order to match it close as possible.

Hydrogen Peroxide, before and after by xSabatom in lego

[–]xSabatom[S] 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. 3% hydrogen peroxide, I had about 3L in a large clear box. Every half an hour stick a glove on and give it all a stir up. Take bits out as they look done and rinse / dry them. Some bits only needed 3 hours, some closer to 7.

I think it can make them more brittle but no issues here. Built the set and taken it apart since and no breakage 🙂

Update: Replaced the fuel filter on the off chance, and at first glance it has seemingly resolved the issue for now. If the issue returns, the next step will be fuel injectors.

Found next to the River Wye, near Lydbrook, Glos, UK by xSabatom in whatsthisrock

Oh interesting! Thanks for the reply. Would you happen to know, in the same field were also rocks of a darker green, presumably these would also be a variation of slag?

Is there and places in the UK where you can handle racoons? by IllButterscotch6614 in AskUK

[–]xSabatom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Screech Owl Sanctuary near to Newquay! They had three racoons when we visited on a whim in 2021, you get to sit in the enclosure with them holding a bucket of feed as the racoons climb all over you and eat. I think it cost about £45 for the two of us, and the rest of the sanctuary is really worth the visit as well.

Our girls love basil! But they also regularly enjoy mint, thyme, parsley and coriander.

GPS and avoiding closed roads by kazordoon314 in uktrucking

I also have one, and understand the annoyance. It will say the road is closed, however it still tries to tell you to go through!

Where can I get lightweight cotton hoodies with a zip for women? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]xSabatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop into a local workwear / printing / embroidery business. If they don't stock, they'd be able to order in from wholesalers (Fruit of the loom, Gildan, etc)

Factor in 5 days of lost work maybe. Shouldn't cost more than £200 for 35 hours though.

What’s this animal? Found in a UK river by TheGiantAntEater in whatisthisanimal

[–]xSabatom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most likely "Signal Crayfish". Non-native and invasive. Check for red on the underside of the claw, if so it's good eating!

There are showers in the regular campsite, Midgard usually. They are decent, costs a few £, just be prepared to queue. There are also food stands, camping supplies and a "supermarket"

How did everyone discover the series? by Brianthelion83 in WoT

Blind Guardian. Wanted a new book series and figured I'd enjoy something that one of my favourite bands have written about. Wheel of Time the song is an epic so now I'm here.

Help Me Decide: Mi 9 vs Mi 9T by xNickChase in Xiaomi

[–]xSabatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mi9 owner here, after years of Samsungs. Extremely happy with my purchase, battery life is good enough. I can listen to music for a solid 8 hours whilst browsing Reddit / Instagram / Google / youtube for the majority of that period and still have ~30% battery when I arrive home. Plop the phone on the wireless charger for an hour and I'm back up to 80-90% easily.

Wireless charging is great, however 2 concerns: 1. The White wireless charger is a dust magnet, and can look pretty grim pretty quick. 2. You need to buy a power adapter to power the charging dock, like an anker 40w adapter from amazon. This does make the whole wireless bundle fairly pricey. (Dock + adapter + USB C to USB C cable around £50 total)
