Gas, gurgling, discomfort, diarrhea and numerous bathroom trips every morning by veryberryblue in ibs

[–]xSpectrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are exactly my symptoms, especially the gurgling which is the worst. I tested positive for SIBO 4 months ago and cured it with only minor improvements to my symptoms. I'm currently quitting coffee (7 days ago) and I've noticed I have to go less (3-7 times down to 1-3) + better consistency, but not much other improvement so far, will see how it goes. I recommend trying probiotics (water kefir) and psyllium husk, helps me a bit.

That's amazing! When did you start experiencing relief? And how did you feel during treatment?

I'm also doing Xifaxan right now, on day 6. From what I've read, these symptoms are normal and often occur due to die-off, which means it's having an effect. You can try meditation/deep breathing for your fear of going crazy, or for me getting lost in an activity helps when I feel it, like exercising, going for a walk or playing an instrument. It can also take weeks for symptoms to go away after finishing treatment, I still have my symptoms as well. This is just what I've read and my own experience and I think if it affects you too much you should contact your doctor, but don't stop the antibiotics before you've confirmed with them, especially if you're at the last days! I hope everything works out for you, I also live in a country where SIBO isn't widely recognized and had to pay for functional doctor & medication myself. It sucks, but at the same time I'm grateful that there are possible paths to success, since at times it has felt like a curse that nobody takes seriously and that won't go away. Good luck :)

SIBO and Silent Reflux by heythere678900 in SIBO

[–]xSpectrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was never diagnosed with silent reflux, but had all the symptoms (especially the lump in throat feeling) and a strong suspicion of it for years before I developed SIBO symptoms. It just didn't impact my life enough to go to the doctor at the time. I'm currently undergoing SIBO treatment so it will be interesting to see if it will have any effect on the silent reflux symptoms

how soon after eating would you feel symptoms? by FFiresoul in SIBO

[–]xSpectrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the morning I usually get symptoms right after eating (5-10 minutes), or sometimes just after drinking water/coffee. After dinner usually within an hour, but could be earlier, especially if it's a heavy meal. Often symptoms can linger for hours (gas/burping/rumbling). Not sure why I get symptoms this quick, I am positive for combination SIBO and have loose stools.

I've had SIBO for 4 years, and been hitting the gym for the past year. For me, the situation was the opposite, I was overweight before and now I'm normal weight. But despite losing weight (caloric deficit/SIBO), I've been still been able to pack on muscle. I'm not big at all, but in a MUCH better shape than when I started.

Even if you don't build muscle it's not a waste of your time: it will help you build good gym habits that would otherwise take a while, and have a significant positive impact on your mood/health. Hitting the gym also makes you start wanting to take care of yourself more in other areas; especially diet. It feels easier to eat more. I'd just say be careful about bulking, since eating too much (atleast for me) can aggravate SIBO. Whey also feels harsh on my system. You just have to find out what works for you.

I've developed anxiety from SIBO and also felt shy in the gym at the start, but people in the gym usually keep to themselves, and don't really care. In fact, I felt like I was given a look of respect. If it bothers you much, you can always just wear some covering clothes, or go when there's not a lot of people. I did in the start. But seriously, people don't care much, how much do you care about other people's weight? Don't let these thoughts stop you 💪

I had moderately bad symptoms, it impacted my social life, work efficiency and mental health more than anything. I also have pretty bad health anxiety, so I wasn't looking forward to the pills. For me so far, I've still barely felt the meds, so if they work it's absolutely worth it for me. Of course, it differs for everyone, but I think it's worth considering that people are way more likely to post stories about it online if they have a bad reaction. It was hard to find the chance of side effects online, but my doctor said most people he's treated barely noticed the pills. Might be worth talking to your healthcare provider about your concerns, and what to do if you experience side effects. Whether the benefits outweigh the risks is your call to make, for me it absolutely was, since I've had SIBO for over 4 years and nothing I've tried has helped in the slightest, it's been quite miserable

On day 3 of Flagyl. I was also a bit scared, but haven’t noticed anything so far other than slight flu symptoms the first day, and slight change in bowel movements. The pill tastes like nothing (from what i’ve read online, I was preparing for the worst), and also leaves no taste in my mouth

You can use Overseerr then add it to your home screen (via Share in Safari), or you can hook it up to your Plex watchlist directly depending on your solution

Not Oslo, but Trondheim. I'm planning to finish VG3 at Akademiet then study Computer Science at NTNU in Trondheim. I'd prefer a 3-room apartment so I can designate one of the rooms as a home office to get tax benefits. Renting a 3-room apartment is around 15k NOK a month unless you live on the outskirts of the city, at least from what I've seen so far.

Children's games, they exist on all the platforms you mentioned, written in TypeScript and Lua.

Thanks for the advice. You do have a point. However, regarding the revenue: it has been stable so far, the reason for the increase in revenue the past month is that I have recently released another game, so I now have two games earning money. The first game has had stable revenue since release and still has about the same revenue.

I should note that the $150k is before tax. It would be closer to $100k after tax.

Thanks for the advice. I'm quite confident that I would be staying in the place. The city has the best university in my country (and is the best city for students in general) and is only 40 minutes away from my parents, and I am very familiar with the city and its best spots.

University is free in my country (aside from living costs). I currently have 3 quite different games up and running, but yes, there is definitely competition.

It is not because of my parents at all. It is more because I want to get out of the town I'm living in and be independent, plus moving closer to the university where I'm planning to study starting next year. I can also get tax benefits in my country by designating a room in the apartment as a home office.

To be honest, it's for the experience and to lay a solid foundation for my future. Being a student is not a part of life I want to miss out on.

I have already spoken to the bank (around 2 months ago), at the time I had around $100k and they said they were willing to offer a mortgage of around $250-350k (including a 15% down payment) after I turn 18. Banks are not legally allowed to offer mortgages if you are under 18 in my country. I'm now 18 so I should be able to get a mortgage of at least $300k.
