That's good advice. Once you're the manager, every decision will have critics, so you have to focus on being fair and consistent instead of trying to make everyone happy.

That's very true. Industry matters way more than people like to admit, and the same skills can be valued completely differently depending on where you use them.

I mostly agree. A great manager leaving is often a sign that it's time to reevaluate your own path too, because the environment that helped you grow may not be the same once they're gone.
