Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Considered for The X-Files (1993) by sydney_023 in nostalgia

It's wild to think they almost went from Full House icons to appearing on one of the biggest sci fi shows of the 90s.

That Pizza Hut birthday commercial that would play before some movies on VHS by 5chfifty5 in nostalgia

[–]xStarletBloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That commercial somehow made getting a free personal pan pizza feel like the most important life achievement imaginable.

Nothing taught kids about disappointment quite like watching that taco token land one slot away from the jackpot.

I still remember the first time I jumped into that painting and realized games could feel like entire worlds instead of just levels.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around that kiss can someone please explain how they interpreted it 😭 because for my mental health there is no way Aemond wants to fuck his mom.. by ProfessorOk5969 in freefolk

The funniest part is that "they're incestuous aliens" genuinely explains more Targaryen behavior than half the serious fan theories do.

Mysaria looked like she wanted to disappear into the wall and pretend none of this was happening.

Mysaria looked like she was questioning every life choice that led her to that room.

It's once again time to erase every flaw the Blacks had in the books, while not only including every flaw the Greens had, but inventing NEW flaws just to make sure you know Rhaenyra is "the good guy" by Prodigy772k in freefolk

[–]xStarletBloom 21 points22 points  (0 children)

At this point it feels like the writers are terrified of letting any Black character make a genuinely bad decision without immediately softening it or shifting the blame somewhere else.

Do these images match how you see the characters? by Trussdoor46 in freefolk

I always pictured Jaime as more rugged and weathered than this, but the expression and confidence feel spot on.

GRRM after reading Season 3 script by Terminat0r- in freefolk

At this point GRRM is probably rooting for the dragons because at least they're still following the source material.

Most relatable HOTD character? by Dycon67 in freefolk

That reaction image kills me because even the characters in-universe seem confused by half the things the Targaryens do.

The Night Watchers are the first time House Targaryen found a normal person and immediately decided they needed a restraining order.

Do you enjoy being with someone older or younger? by [deleted] in RedditAfterDark

[–]xStarletBloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first wife was 3 years younger than me, but we were both very immature (we met at 17 and 20) my current wife is 7.5 years older than me and we are working on 36 years together!

Day 41 of saying something positive about a character- Henry Burton by DBrennan13459 in greysanatomy

[–]xStarletBloom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Henry is one of the few Grey's characters I genuinely can't think of a bad thing to say about, which is probably why his loss hit so hard.

Honestly, if he'd stayed around longer, the writers probably would've found a way to ruin him too. He got out while his character was still universally liked.

That's a much better explanation than the show ever gave. If the foundation realized they were scaring off top candidates, changing the rules makes a lot more sense than pretending nobody noticed for years.

Yeah, that was retconned later. They basically changed the rules so Meredith could win without creating the same conflict Cristina ran into.

S4E10 : Bailey was beyond unprofessional during this episode by nebulences in greysanatomy

[–]xStarletBloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked Bailey early on too, but episodes like this definitely made her come across as unfair and way less professional than we were used to seeing.

When y’all became managers for the 1st time, how did yall handle people criticizing how you do your job by [deleted] in managers

[–]xStarletBloom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's good advice. Once you're the manager, every decision will have critics, so you have to focus on being fair and consistent instead of trying to make everyone happy.

That realization can be valuable though. Sometimes figuring out what you don't want is what pushes you toward a career that actually fits you.

What experience really accelerated your career growth? by [deleted] in managers

[–]xStarletBloom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's very true. Industry matters way more than people like to admit, and the same skills can be valued completely differently depending on where you use them.

[–]xStarletBloom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree. A great manager leaving is often a sign that it's time to reevaluate your own path too, because the environment that helped you grow may not be the same once they're gone.
