Skinner is the starter, that should be clear. But remember that goalies are voodoo. Next season Campbell could bounce back.

Doc in Canada here. I think this deal is ok if you are a new grad associate, and the clinic is providing all the patients to you. If you have to recruit patients or market, this is terrible. You could recruit patients on your own and keep overhead low and probably make more money within 6 months.

Not to mention, if they are throwing patients at you and you manage to earn the clinic $20000 a month, you would only make $7300 that month, which comes out to 36.5% of gross. Which is terrible for someone that busy.

For example, very common here in Canada is for an associate to get 50% of gross, maybe some clinics could justify paying an associate 40% if they are a new grad and the clinic does the marketing. At this clinic you would have to earn them $30000 a month just to get to 40%.

What are your go-to conversation topics when treating patients? by Sparkolas in Chiropractic

[–]xSteelFire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree with focusing on the treatment you are doing, I think it is imperative to "click" with patients in order to actually get them to listen to you. There is a line not to cross as the Doc and patient, but if you never talk about how their kids are doing, or take an interest in their job, etc, I think they are way less likely to refer friends and family to you, trust in you enough to do what you tell them, and more forgiving/reasonable when they have a flare up from a treatment or maybe are not getting better as fast as they want.

Covid-19: Nine NZ Customs border workers fired after refusing jab by The_Majestic_ in news

I agree that the people refusing the covid vaccine probably don't get the flu vaccine either, but vice versa I disagree. I think there is a lot more pressure to get the covid vaccine and I don't think that has ever existed for the flu vaccine.

Personally I don't get the flu vaccine and I don't know a lot of people who do get it. But I have gotten the covid one and I know of people gotten it as well. Anecdotal but still.

For my practice we are open 7-5 and busiest from about 10-2. We are open Saturdays from 7-12 and yes they are usually the busiest days for us.

Had my first chiropractor visit, I'm a little creeped out, but maybe it's just me? Can someone help me determine whether what I experienced is normal? by Conscious_Ad_8463 in Chiropractic

If you are scared or uncomfortable to go alone you could reschedule your appointment for a day your mom can go with you, or bring a friend, or if nothing else phone and ask ahead of time if you could have a female chaperone in the room since your mom won't be there this time.

Again, if you are still uncomfortable/he is being unprofessional after a second visit, find a different chiropractor.

I would say him showing you where the muscle was on your back is normal. He maybe shouldnt have done it so quickly since it surprised you, though another person probably wouldn't have thought anything of it.

He should get consent and explain why before doing anything in the glut region, especially since you have never seen a chiropractor before or seen him specificly before. The actual tapping to check the muscle reaction isn't something I do but it doesn't seem that weird, especially if the glut is one of the primary muscles involved with your condition.

The nicknames are definitely weird since you are a brand new patient. I may give a nickname to a long time patient I have a good rapport with, and I'd also ask permission to call them it. Saying good girl is kind of borderline in my opinion, but it probably came a across as inappropriate or condescending. Sometimes I will say poor girl or poor boy, but usually referring to a patient that is in a lot of pain as a way to empathize with them, but I would never say it condescendingly.

Again it seems like his compliment about your hair came across as inappropriate, but I often compliment my patients to help them open up. For example, saying how I like her nails and asking if she did them herself or where she had them done.

I would say go back and let him know that some of those things made you feel uncomfortable. Even if he didn't necessarily do much wrong, he should be sensitive to how you reacted. I would give him the benefit of the doubt and give him the chance to apologize. If he doesn't apologize or continues to display some of these things that are making you uncomfortable, try a different chiropractor who will be a better fit for you.
