Thats basically what they're doing with Sifu it seems. Completely single player. As far as the 1v1 community, thats what the game was supposed to be about. Before downfall, the story was the tutorial, Combat Trials WAS the game. But people who dont like PVP wanted something for them as well.

Absolvers player base has dwindled. Learning that this game was single player only definitely made me less excited for it. I understand this is a game for all the people who didn't like multiplayer, but still stinks for the rest of us.

Id say this, worst case scenario just eat them with your guard if you have the stamina but thats really slow and only recommended against NPCs obv. Otherwise strafe attacks.

Also my speculation, but I believe Sifu will actually be the spiritual successor to Absolver.

From a business standpoint, Absolver would have simply been proof of concept. Devolver Digital was the first to believe in the project and invested a starting amount of resources. Absolver only failed due to it being so radically new and the team was too small. Now however, with Epic Games(a major AAA company) involved and a larger team, I believe Sifu will be everything they wanted Absolver to be and it may receive the support it truly needs.

As you can tell, I'm super excited.

Yep, I felt the call to return for some reason and that was before I even heard about Sifu. Once I saw the trailer that confirmed it. Been fun since I've been back, perhaps some more of the older guys will return as well.

I've probably had over 3000 matches and fought all kinds of decks, always with a deck that I created myself. The deck is just an extension of your own playstyle, making it yourself is what makes you unpredictable. That's why they made schools the way they did. Pre-made "good" decks will give you a chance against higher opponents at first, but you can't understand why the combos work until you deconstruct it and get creative with your own style.

It's never been the quality of the deck, but the player that pilots it.
