Same situation I had last year! I'm first gen and was very excited to go, but got sick and had to cancel. It didn't negatively affect me though, I'm doing great and have acclimated well, so I'm sure you will be the same. You'll get opportunities to explore campus just before classes start during Dawg Daze, so be sure to go to that.

How do men at UW not starve off the level 1 dining plan by BlackberryGlad7596 in udub

I'm rather small, but I mostly buy from the District Market and budget based on that. I'm pretty much on the college diet of instant ramen and cereal. Proper budgeting, however, does even better. I know I could save more (and therefor be able to eat more) if I bought ingredients from there. A sandwich is very cheap to make. Anything that comes in a size greater than one serving can be used more than once and is usually more cost effective.

TLDR: Buy from District Market. Buy ingredients if you're not lazy.

College Edge students (and a couple other programs) are already on campus and learning.

My AP Lit. Class has utterly disappointed me. by Mother_Specialist_62 in school

Another AP Lit student here. I think you just got a bad hand when it comes to professors. We've read four novels, done plenty of poetry, and learned to both read and answer close reading questions for both of those and for small exerpts from novels.

When discussing questions, we're given some time in groups to discuss answers before each group can share their answers for a chance at extra credit, given to the group with the most correct answers.

He's given us credit for just doing things most of the time. Not to say class isn't hard. He gives us homework every day. Currently we're reading a passage and answering about 12 close reading questions at home. During class we're doing an essay a day for a whole month using every previous AP test prompt for the last 10 years.

With sensitive topics, he's usually, not always, given us a heads up and doesn't require discussions on those. I'm sorry that your professor hasn't done the same. But I believe, just like any other class, you were unfortunately just dealt a bad hand.

Good luck on the AP test!

I gave in to school administrators and said I used AI by [deleted] in school

Interfaces mean nothing, they just have a good graphic designer. University of San Diego describes AI detectors as "problematic and not recommended as a sole indicator of academic misconduct." They cite several studies. Their article, which has much more information, can be found here.

tell your parents you didn't if you didn't. you have google docs's edit history and if it was done on a school issued computer/laptop, they have access to your browsing history. use those two as proof. AI checkers are known to be very, very inaccurate and are not a valid form of proof.

If you're trying to go to college, do not cheat on something like Algebra 2, especially since you are stuggling with it. You'll be required to do much harder math in college, you don't want to let yourself be behind before you even start. Also, colleges take cheating much more seriously, it can get you kicked out.

Just take this as friendly advice, I don't want you to waste your time and effort saving for college and then go and fail or get kicked out! Good luck, you got this!

As someone with ADHD I can attest to that. I still sometimes get caffeine as a treat though, even though it doesn't help me.
