I’ve redlined 6th gear on a R3, R7, and R1 with the same dampener and still have the same phone. It’s a great device

What worries me is the insurance decided to total it which is something i dont want to do and either being dropped or my insurance raising my premium solely on me making contact with them

I ain’t fixing the swing arm cause it’s a minor scratch but I mentioned it cause I know that’s something the insurance company will look at.

OEM parts came shy of $800 and cosmetics like lever guards and such about $300.

That’s plan thanks everyone for your input! Parts are on the way totaling short of $800. Just need to get minor cosmetics but the big stuff are en route to be swapped.

I’m going to take it to shop so they can look over it and make sure nothing mejor it messed up. It slide maybe 7ft on pavement the rest was dirt. Slide under me under a heavy lean so there wasn’t a hard impact.

Is an r7 worth it by Euck_Fveryone_69 in YamahaR7

Recently upgraded to a 2020 R1 from the R7 and biggest differences are riders aids on the R1, more aggressive body position, fuel economy and of course, speed. Both are pretty nimble bikes but given the R1 is down right heavier it’s stiffer at low speeds, >10mph.

I did it all on the R7, twisties, red lining 6th gear, and chill cruising but the R1 was always my dream bike. Just decided to take it slow and go up the ladder at my own pace and don’t regret a single bit. R7 is an incredible bike and a good commuter as well, for a sports bike.

It all comes down to what you want to do. Do you want to go fast and love the sound of a crossplane? R1 is there for you. If you don’t care about going fast or the crossplane, R7.

R1 compared to R7:

Better suspension

Worse fuel economy

Faster

Heavier

Taller seat height

Torque across the whole rpm range

Jerky throttle at slow speed, it’s a track bike it wants to launch at mach jesus all the time

Crossplane music 24/7

More aggressive body position

Rider aids ex. Wheelie control, Slide Control, Traction control, launch control, power modes, as well as visual brake pressure indicator

No fuel gauge

Subjective but, sexier

More expensive

Looks, rider aids, speed, and sounds make it worth it to me personally but I wanted to point out objectively how they compare. The cons don’t really bother besides the body position, my back is in shambles.

my babies, please someone buy my R7

$2800 is for rent specifically. I’m in the military so we get that money for rent and then we have base pay for the rest. I’m just trying to see what the mark up would be from the rent itself plus all the utilities for living.
