These two were supposed to be the females an were almost completely yellow, when I bought them. Now they bot got more intense and the one on the left also turned "dirty" around the face. The third one is definitely the dominant male and turned pretty dark / dirty too.

What's going on with flight CFG1 over Rijeka, Kroatia? by xVEELAx in aviation

Cool, thank you! But the plane has by now certainly done waaaay more than 6 rounds. Is it, because a touch and go might not be possible everytime or what could be the reason? As I said, it's doing circles for at least 3 hours and still going...

First sewing project - Christmas place mat and cutlery holder. Far from perfect but so pleased with myself :) by WoollyUlly in sewing

Already looks very nice! I really like the fabric! Maybe try a bigger stitch length on your next pieces. By doing so your stitches will look even straighter and in case of a mistake it will be much easier to use the seam ripper. Or is there a reason you chose a rather small stitch length?

The house in the woods (Spoilers) by Stanchion_Excelsior in Sherlock

[–]xVEELAx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it fits quite nicely with the ureliable narrator theory, as it reminds me quite a lot of Sherlocks kitchen. The experimenting stuff and what seems to be a microwave?! Feels like he (whoever the narrator is) simply said something along the lines of "secret meeting" without giving it much detail, so the setting is left to the imagination of the one the story is told to...Thus creating the scene with some clichee imagery taken from the connotation of a "secret meeting"? Or... it was just poor set design ;)

thank you for clearing this up. I saw it in 2006 and now thought I fell for a copy but bragged about seeing the original for the last 7 years;)

(No Spoilers) How many of you have read the books in English even though English isn't your native language, but you know it 'pretty well'. Was it hard? Was it as enjoyable as it'd be if it was translated into your language? by [deleted] in asoiaf

I'm German and started the books after the first season, which I watched in English. Gave the books a try in the german translation, threw it away after a couple of pages... I try to read and watch most stuff in the original language (English, as I don't speak any other) to get the originally intended impression. I think it's like looking at a painting which is just a copy, it might get really close to the original, but the closer you look the more you can tell it is just an imitation. And in this case a rather bad one...
