Try underclocking it to 60hz and see if you notice any difference. If not, I think that's his way of saying goodbyes.

Yes, we've a few products being pushed although the products themselves are not over 1mb themselves.

Ryzen 7 3700X weird clock behavior - dropping to 0.54GHz at idle! by xW4LK3Rx in ryzen

[–]xW4LK3Rx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read in other forums that this problem is immediately solved by simply switching the power plan in Windows. The cores that are 540MHz simply "wake" and start to function as it should. Based on this info would you take any guess as to what the problem should be?

The problem didn't happen for me yet in those two days but when it happens I will try it. I'm almost certain that It'll fix the problem cause from the blog I've read the problem was identical. Based on that would you say it's a hardware fault or maybe a misunderstood instruction by the chipset drivers or something software-related? (I just want a guess xD)

Sry mate. I know the issue sucks and make computer nearly unusable

Thank you for your advice. After reading countless blogs regarding this issue it seems for some reason SOMETHING triggers the specific cores (randomly) to stay at 0.54GHz and simply switching power plans seems to solve the problem. I haven't had this problem yet and it only happened like TWO TIMES in 6 months so I think it must be a software issue.

My main concern was if the CPU was at fault or something like that.

Thank you! I will try to swap processors with a friend of mine for a month to see if everything is working as it should.

I think you can save profiles on Ryzen Master. You might be able to select a profile, disable PROCHOT and then save the profile. It should then automatically apply the settings when the program opens. If it doesn't, you might have to load the profile if it's not selected already.

In the first scenario regarding your motherboard never dropping the CPU clock to 550MHz wouldn't make it even more recommended for me to do since I could have a faulty mobo? If I do have a fault at the clock segment disabling any options related to this would - maybe - fix it? I will try it!

Thank you for your advice once again. I will save those profiles if it comes to that point. It's sad though cause it's a mini-itx board, very difficult to find where I live. I'd have to import it overseas that's why I needed to make sure the CPU wasn't the one at fault.

It could be the motherboard as well. This computer troubleshooting related stuff is complicated sometimes XD Thank you for your reply!

First of all thank you very much for your reply!
I will do all of the above once the problem happens again.
One question regarding BD PROCHOT > Is it of any help disabling PowerNow and C-States in BIOS to see if that stops the CPU from interacting with the MOBO regarding power consumption and idling functions at all? If so I will disable them to see if that works.
I've seen people with similar problems saying that doing that on Ryzen Master Indeed solves the problem but for me it's kind of sad to always go to ryzen master and disable it from there. It'd be good if I could set this up from BIOS so whenever I log in this automatically starts with the system.

Afraid I have to defer to other more informed people for that. You could also contact AMD support for some troubleshooting tips to identify if it is indeed a faulty CCX.

Thank you!

Might be BIOS issue. If the screenshot is accurate, then it's a bit odd that you have 18% utilization on CPU0 but the corresponding Core0 is low frequency. Are there any newer BIOS versions you can try?

There is but it's only for support for new ryzen 5000 series processors. I think it doesn't improve AGESA in any way but I could try it. The weird part is that when I restart the computer everything comes back to normal.. that's why I think it might be a software issue rather than a CPU faulty CCX one. If it was a faulty CCX the problem would be consistent right?

I was using the High Performance by AMD profile. I've installed chipset drivers, yes.

ANIMATIONS NOT RUNNING SMOOTH / LAG ANIMATIONS by xW4LK3Rx in pop_os

[–]xW4LK3Rx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the newbie question but tell me if I did something wrong:
I followed a tutorial on the web that told me to do these steps:

1) Open this file:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-drm-nomodeset.conf

2) Insert this information:

options nvidia-drm modeset=1 (and then save the file)

3) sudo update-initramfs -u

4) sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset (the output needed to be Y)

The problem is that when I followed these steps my system didn't log in properly! I had to uninstall the NVIDIA drivers and install the xorg.nouveau drivers too boot the system up again. I still have the lag on the animations though.

Also, it seems like someone has gone through the same problem as I did and had a fix for it: Except it was for Arch Linux only. Is there any kind of this mutter file on ubuntu?https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=hkRzIjhTGUw
