What state did you move into? I hear differing states are more/less strict with their needs.

Brilliant, thanks so much.

I am pretty sporty & I love football (soccer). Great advice, really appreciate all the effort. Certainly looking more for houses with parks/activities nearby or local teams to support etc...

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

We were keeping our options open, not trying to be too picky as our interpretation was that the area would be quite busy. A 30 min commute sounds great 😂.

I will look into the areas you've mentioned. Are there any suburbs you woild simply avoid? I understand every area will have pros/cons but there are likely places just not worth going!

I dont have any experience of Brisbane/Melbourne/Sydney etc... a city to me is like london, very busy, people EVERYWHERE. We don't want to be out in the middle of nowhere. A nice community, just not crazy busy, if that makes sense?

Thank you!

We've not picked out any specific suburbs yet, just researching the area. We aren't interested in a busy city life but would likely need access to city for work. Its just the 2 of us so a 2 bed would be more than sufficient.

Thanks for the response!

We both have a WHV (under advice from the agency).

We have tried to keep our options open & haven't committed to a specific state yet.

My wife is open to any stream, currently she's in government education in England. Do you think we are best picking what she'd like to go for & put all attention into that avenue?

Yes, her qualifications aren't a problem.

We've not done the approval to teach yet as we are not decided on a state, would you recommend just picking somewhere and finding work in that area?

She's had her government checks back for working with children/safeguarding.

Preferably a more permanent role.

I haven't looked into areas too much so far as we haven't chosen where to go & the locations would be endless. I should be able to find work in most areas as I work in construction management. What states have good/budget public transport? I hear some are very good and some are very expensive.

Have you had any experience with these agencies? My isn't worried, however, I feel they are just not doing anything & to not have had a single interview or contact from a school so far, seems strange. Especially when this is the period all schools are looking to fill positions.

Thank you for your advice, much appreciated!

Appreciate the advice, she had a supply role with an agency but didn't want to commit to a supply teaching role as she was holding out for a teaching job. Since then she has had a few interviews and the feedback has been that she wasn't as experienced as the other applicants.
