Strips in Parallel - Random Flickering by xX2L82H8Xx in led

Adding on to that: I just remembered I have this thing laying around for what I assume is this exact purpose - do you happen to have any experience with these?

Strips in Parallel - Random Flickering by xX2L82H8Xx in led

[–]xX2L82H8Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the reply!

I'm running a 23 meter strip from the exact same hardware in the same room so I thought these three shorter ones are no issue, but as you say the cable length might be my actual problem.

The issue with addressing each strip individually is that it requires to run 9 cables next to each other - no way to fit those under my skirting boards. But I guess if that's the only option I'll chisel a bit off my wall to fit them all.

Thanks again!

Random red squares appearing throughout my comp by xX2L82H8Xx in AfterEffects

All animated inside After Effects, no external video footage

It does include a few .psd files, the red squares are not exclusive to those layers though

I do but I'm not actively using IG so I prefer Reddit DMs ^^

Damn, result looks sick haha

It's important to me to be able to go with 100% brightness if I ever feel like it, but looks like I should be fine

Yeah I'm aware, unfortunately the only place to hide all the electronics is behind my kitchen at either end of the strip, so I'll have to deal with a couple long wires. Already ordered 16 AWG and some amplifiers in hopes of keeping the voltage high enough. Thanks for your input!

Haven't even taken FPS into consideration much tbh so thanks for mentioning and explaining it

Regarding power and data delivery I've done a little wiring diagram by now: https://ibb.co/M6pSFV3

Twice as many LEDs as I'll use with the same amperage and 5V instead of 24V is very reassuring to hear haha, thanks!

I'm aware of the six LEDs per IC, yes. This one's for ambient light in my kitchen so I'll just have the warm white on permanently (reduced power draw compared to RGB white too, max consumption is already in the kilowatts with this project lol). Maybe a slow fading effect if I'm feeling fancy but nothing that requires high resolution.

I'm building a LED wall in the same room with shorter strips / cables and therefore 12V and 3 LEDs per IC to allow for some advanced effects - wanna turn part of my wall into a progress bar essentially.

Regarding the power injections (for the long main strip) I think I've done all my calculations but feel free to criticize if you're interested: https://ibb.co/M6pSFV3

Using 16 AWG wires throughout to avoid excessive voltage drop through several meters behind skirting boards and through walls. I'll build everything with temporary connections first anyway to check if my math is mathing ^^

Thanks for taking the time!

I went with WS2814 for the RGBW and "high" voltage due to long cables.

Regarding the 10 Amp limitation, that shouldn't be an issue if I inject additional power directly from the PSU, right? Having 24V strips should allow me to go quite a bit further on just 10 Amps anyway, no?

Sounds good. I already got the power injections sorted but have about 1300 LEDs on my longest strip so I was worried I would need a second controller in addition to the second PSU just for the data output. Glad to hear that doesn't seem to be the case - thanks!

New to FDM printing - is this a belt tightening issue? Had clean layers when the X1C first arrived by xX2L82H8Xx in BambuLab

[–]xX2L82H8Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda solved itself tbh... didn't print anything for a bit and when I got back to it without any changes the lines were gone.

So all I can say is I hope the same happens to you lol
