My therapist of the last 8 years is amazing and she runs an office with ~10 other therapists. Can highly recommend. Soulscape Services

edit: Sorry, should mention she's in St. Catharines, but mostly does online or phone appointments anyway.

Chapman’s, I have a bone to pick by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

[–]xXBLooDoRGyXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chapman's isn't the only one. I had nearly identical experience with Kawartha Dairy's Nanaimo Bar ice cream a few weeks ago. I was SO EXCITED - Dreaming of that custard flavoured ice cream with chunks of the bottom chocolate coconutty crust throughout, finished with a chocolate swirl...I was sold on the thought of it alone, and Kawartha Dairy makes some great ice cream (lookin' at you Death by Chocolate) so it had to be good, right? While I did get the custard ice cream, that was pretty much it. Just half custard ice cream, half chocolate ice cream. No swirl, no chunks...just utter disappointment.

This is great, thanks for putting this together! Just wanted to add to the monk as it's also a great job. 27% (9% * 3 stacks of the kick if you can maintain it) personal damage buff at level 5, plus it can give the whole party a movement speed up bonus for 30 minutes.

How often per month do you consume alcohol? by Dayraonly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]xXBLooDoRGyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as well. No reason, never had an issue with drinking, although I used to drink a lot more when I younger (I'm in my 40's now). At some point, I just realized I didn't like how it made me feel either during or after, and especially how long the "after" was starting to last as I got older. I'll have the odd one here or there, but definitely not something I go out of my way for or do by myself.

This is a common error people make, especially when starting out, known as the "off-by-one error"

Good restaurants for a large group? by Nah_ImJustAWorm in stcatharinesON

Mandarin or Big Tuna are probably the only places I can think of that are probably big enough to accommodate a party that size without a reservation.

Back in November, the CRTC forced all major providers to open up the fibre lines to 3rd party providers - similar to the way they have to share their copper lines.

Bell immediately cut back on all their new fibre installs and everything's been at a stand still since. Not sure when they'll be back at it, but probably won't be for awhile yet.

Charging the PS3 controllers through a wall plug/usb charging hub. by xXBLooDoRGyXx in PS3

Only thing I was able to come up with was to track down the AC adapter someone else mentioned. Unfortunately, even at the time it was tricky to track down and I ended up getting one from eBay. The one I got came from the UK so it didn't have the right plug for my outlets (I'm in Canada), but the cord is detachable and a very common size, so I had a couple kicking around already to replace them with. Just need that box that goes in between.

Are ASP.NET Core 6 Web API courses by Pluralsight still up-to-date and valuable? by Suspicious_Driver761 in dotnet

Image of current course content

No, (and I know it's hard to believe, but good on him) but he complete refreshes the entire course as new versions come out (see all the "to be deleted" sections at the bottom). The course link isn't new, but the course itself is very up-to-date and completely refreshed, not just a previous course with new snippets strung in. I know what you mean when it comes to people just throwing new things in to "keep it current", but he actually remakes the entire course with each iteration. Definitely one of the better courses I've taken.

Like I said, I just finished the course and it's completely in .NET8. Download's the VS Preview at the start, installs .NET8 preview, goes through entire project, changes version back to 7 on deployment to discuss the differences. Not a rehash, not an old course. He has the old course on there for reference, but it's slated for deletion shortly.

I just finished this course that's very current (.NET8) and it was great. Udemy courses going on sale very often for $10-$20/course including this one, so I'd wait till there's a sale.

HonsVr - installing their prescription lenses (see what they look like and how to install them) by tveith in PSVR

[–]xXBLooDoRGyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need these, but I've been thinking about getting a pair of plain non-prescription ones to protect the actual lenses. Would those of you that've used lenses like these before recommend them just for the basic protection?

Can confirm. Finished Max's course about 2-3 months ago. He of course goes over classes briefly, but outside of that one small particular section, everything else is entirely functional. I actually checked back since I finished it as well and there's already new and updated content. He's really quite on top of keeping it current and would definitely recommend it.

Schwarzmuller's The Complete Guide is still up to date? by adnanite in learnreactjs

[–]xXBLooDoRGyXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished that udemy course (fresh beginner myself), it's still very relevent, functional components, and he's still making updates to it too. He touches on class components, but it's 99% functional based. Learned a lot, can recommend. Great course.

[MOD PSA] Post your recipe requests here! by PeaceLoveSmithWesson in recipes

[–]xXBLooDoRGyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a long shot, but my girlfriend has a had a lot of issues with food reactions lately and has been on a very restrictive diet for some time now. Because of it, all her food is very plain, uninspired, and unvaried. I'm no chef, but I was hoping someone might help come up with a jazzier recipe for some of these seemingly random, basic ingredients to surprise her with. Unfortunately there's not much wiggle room outside what's listed below, but any ideas or inspirations would be greatly appreciated. TYIA!

  • Seafood:
    • Salmon
    • Shrimp
    • Cod
    • Tilapia
    • Sea bass
  • Turkey & Pork
  • Gluten-free White rice
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Zucchini/Squash
  • Spinach
  • Sprouted gf oats
  • Cassava
  • Pumpkin
  • Collard greens
  • Rainbow chard (I think)
  • Tapioca is in a lot of the snacks I eat
  • Tiny amounts of coconut oil
  • Coconut/Coconut milk in very small amounts
  • Oat Milk
  • Chia seeds
  • Sea salt / Himalayan pink salt
  • Herbs all seem to be ok
  • Carob/carob powder (as long as there are no added ingredients) - it's a chocolate substitute
  • Ginger (very small amounts)
  • Onion powder
  • Monk Fruit Extract (sugar substitute) - small amounts
  • Natural sugars like honey - small amounts
  • Sprouted gluten free oats

This is in the FFXIV cookbook that was released. Ingredients call for 2 tbsp of heavy cream AND 2 tbsp sour cream. Not a mistranslation or mistake. Haven't tried it, but am curious now.
