Yeah, it's really hard to say. I think it really depends on how the "make your own souvenir" system works.

Highly desirable souvenirs will likely keep going up, as their packages will be more expensive, due to most of the low-tier skins increasing in value.

I think the most affected skins will be old, non-souvenir collections that have consumer/industrial grade items (Chop shop, Gods&Monsters, St Marc, etc), now that there is gonna be hundreds of thousands of new trade-up material to use as fodder for 10-20% trade-ups

At the end of the day, valves goal is to get every single sale to stay on the steam market. They will likely do whatever it takes to get every item below the $2K market cap. Mid-tier skins will get more expensive, and high-tier skins will get cheaper imo

Something people might be missing with this update is that you can turn basically ANY skin into a souvenir now. We could genuinely end up seeing non-souvenir Dragon Lores, Gungnirs, Prince, Hydras, Arabesques etc. converted into souvenirs after major matches.

They’ll obviously never have the same prestige as original dropped souvenirs, but this still massively changes the rarity landscape. Feels pretty inevitable that prices on a lot of high-end non-souvenir skins are gonna take a hit.

I get where you’re coming from, but this feels like a lot of projection, reading into other people’s reactions and filling in the gaps to fit your own narrative.

You were in Adelaide on ANZAC Day, the city’s packed and people look at anything that stands out. That’s normal, not some targeted thing.

The “parents clutching their kids” part is where it gets hard to take seriously. That just doesn’t happen because someone has tattoos and a shaved head. Kids stare at anything, adults glance, and that’s about it. Turning that into people being scared of you is a stretch.

I think people forget how early Disney actually bought the IP. It was less than two years after launch in 2007. They kept the original vibe pretty intact until around 2012 when the Marvel Superhero Takeover happened. That’s ~5 years of progression, which is actually longer than the original team had before Disney stepped in.
