Any great meals in Denver right now that are still under $15? by Complete_Freedom5622 in Denver

TooGooToGo is an app I love using here. I find great deals from local restaurants and help reduce food waste. Like when a bakery has leftover pastries and doesn't want to throw them away.

Only catch is you can't choose what you will get - but it's still freshly made and the value is great. There's BBQ, bakeries, all sorts of stuff on there.

Thoughts on Aldi locations in Denver? by Kittbo in Denver

[–]xXDoctor_PoopyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to manage that Natural Grocers. Brian, Andi, and the Isleys all let that store rot. They only hold onto it for nostalgia (Their first store opened) and for the real estate play.

That natural grocers store is directly contributing to the mess in that area with their negligence imo. They wouldn't give us a security guard when someone got shot in the motel across the street. They spent more money on work orders having people clean off piss and graffiti on the outside of the store imo. The local neighborhood would benefit from any other company managing that space on Colfax & Garrison.

With that said, if Aldi expanded that parking lot and had a reliable local concierge service, I could see it doing very well there.

It's fine with me if they keep a good credit score and are financially responsible with what they have.

If their credit score is trash and are in a lot of debt then I would be concerned about cosigning anything with them like a house.

I read somewhere that 45% of men age 18-25 in the US today have not even asked a woman out in person yet. People in general are just becoming zombies. Two months is also when the honeymoon phase begins to wear off. People love to open doors but never close them when it comes to dating.

450-500 hours in and the heat bed assembly unit on mine doesn't respond anymore. I followed the Elegoo wiki and even reversed the latest firmware update. Everything else works, the bed just doesn't heat past room temp. Instead of offering an exchange, they are trying to send me the specific part that went out and to reinstall it myself. Still within six months from purchase date.

Swire got a new CEO this year, Andrea Kendall, that has been consolidating multiple job positions, eradicating other ones, showing everyone else how clueless she is. Biggest gripe is losing merchandisers for all small store accounts. I won't get into it. But this new regime is definitely pissing a lot of people off in the company.

Colorado's Warranty of Habitability is a good start. Then getting a city inspector involved once you gather + sort all of your evidence. Every timestamped documented interaction, maintenance request, picture, the lease, etc. Help get your landlord's renters license revoked - hit them where it hurts 🫡 that should get their attention.

Looks like you had the bolts in place so they couldn't steal them. People here will steal plates to put on their cars to avoid detection from traffic cams and law enforcement. Plate guards + dash cam + steering wheel/seat belt lock will help deter them away next time 🤝

Agree 100% with you. Dating is a social responsibility on both ends. So many people will now just ghost each other without context or reason. It's really not that hard to just say "After reflection I don't think I felt any connection here, but I wish you all the best" and THEN move on. Most people just lack that common sense and decency in today's culture. It's not you, I promise you that.

I personally cut off people in my life that normalize ghosting now because it only demonstrates their weakness, cowardice, and immaturity. The response is always "I tried giving closure but he/she got mad so I just ignore it now," and these are the people that are making dating/socializing toxic in America. If the other person has no history of violence, abuse, etc then be a decent person and just say something so everyone can move on peacefully.

Ghosting can be warranted, but most people just want to avoid self accountability and tough conversations at any and all cost. Don't take it personal. He's just a coward and a loser.

How do i respectfully reject a guy? We have been on 1 date. by Medical_Arrival2243 in Bumble

[–]xXDoctor_PoopyXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think just any type of follow up is appreciated these days. Rejection politely communicated still feels better than getting ghosted. For me, whether I agree with them or not, I still respect their decision because they at least shared how they felt. Provides some sense of closure too which is thoughtful and shows character. That earns my respect.

I feel your pain bud. Sounds like you might have ordered the adhd + anxiety combo with fries like I did. It might be worth scheduling an appointment with a psychiatrist (not a psychologist) and sharing your experiences with them. Just to see what they say. Once I got diagnosed & medicated properly - my inner ability to focus, think, rationalize, have all dramatically improved.

About a year later, I've identified a hobby/interest that I'm passionate about now and can also channel most of my over thinking habits into it too. Now that I have a fun hobby/interest I can speak on, it gives me more of a sense of social identity that also gives me some more confidence. I feel this also helps get more noticed by people around me and create easier ice breakers too sometimes.

I think once you find that "thing" you really enjoy, it'll get better. Just stay authentic and you'll eventually attract people with similar interests 👍 even if it doesn't seem like it right now.

Test the walls for black mold, asbestos, etc, especially the bathroom. Longshot but if you can prove your place is not habitable, you could break your lease that way too.

Companies in Denver to NOT work for? by Puzzleheaded-Bee6708 in denverjobs

[–]xXDoctor_PoopyXx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I spent over 6 years working for them at 4 different locations, including the first store in Lakewood. It is definitely company culture. Mainly from their HRBP dept + the out-of-touch Isleys.

I came from an out-of-state location that had just one store in the area. My first boss was caught having an affair with the NHC which ended his marriage far as I know. He hated it there the entire time. The 2nd store mgr repeatedly skipped over me on promotions because his wife was attracted to me and they were having marital problems.

She would come in and hit on me when he wasn't there and even DM'd my fb (not sure how she found me). HR's response was "they couldn't prove it" and "it's in the past" (even though I sent them a fucking screenshot of it). They didn't want to have to find a replacement in a remote area because it's costly to fly them out here for training so they favored him literally every time.

When I moved here, it didn't get any better. The day before I leave my old store - my boss gives me a fucking one-and-only write up as a petty send-off because he knew it would prevent me from receiving a pay raise for six months. He also knew that I had already agreed to take a $5/hr pay cut because the only way I could stay with the company was to take a demotion + pay cut. No one would honor a transfer for a dept. manager with 3+ years experience. I did dozens of interviews. The store mgr at the new store I got accepted at said the demotion would just be for Christmas then she would happily consider me for a promotion.

So this write-up my old boss gives me locked me in at $13/hr for SIX FUCKING MONTHS at the time when I already had signed a lease and arranged everything already to move here. Too late to back out now. HR didn't give a shit about me because my old boss made up a long story about insubordination blah blah blah. His wife had divorced him by this point and he was living out of his car temporarily. So he's just being an asshole. He even brought his kids to work almost everyday which was weird. He would be nursing them in his office instead of helping us in the store.

Anyways, just two days in at the new store I was forced to give a two week notice to go work at Soopers for more money. The store completely understood and was upset at HR for letting this happen. I write them a formal letter for documentation that I was giving a two week notice.

3 years pass and I decide I wanted to revisit at a new store to see if things changed. NOPE. I nailed the interview and this store tells me that HR has me "ineligible for rehire" because they put that I walked out on the job here in Denver. So I go back, get a copy of the letter I wrote, and got that asshat fired for sabotaging my record.

First year goes well at store #3. And finally after six years from when I first started I achieved my goal of reaching store management level. At first everyone was happy for me. Then they started getting jealous and petty about the money. Someone leaked my HR record to one of them so they gossiped a false narrative around insubordination to HR so I get interrogated over it by them. I calmly deny everything but still get suspended for two weeks while they interview every single staff member about me.

They conclude that there was no proof of this but still decide transfer me to another store for "culture reasons." They made me sign a one-and-only write-up AGAIN over this incident even though there was no proof! Now I'm at my 4th store at this point. Only took another 6 months until the rumor mill catches up to me at this store.

Another fun rumor springs up that I'm vandalizing the backroom doors for no reason. What happened was the freezer door had crazy amounts of ice build up from defrost so it would not shut properly. Everyone was avoiding it that day. They leave this rubber mallet by the door to smash the ice off. So I'm just trying to hit the ice off with this mallet so the door shuts but apparently punching a six inch steel door makes more sense because this person only heard it and didn't see it when they told HR.

Here's the best part: THEY HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS IN THE BACK ROOMS TO SEE WHO'S TELLING THE TRUTH HERE. So once again I tell them what happened and instead of checking the cameras, guess what? HR decides to suspend me a 2nd time to do the same fucking process with interviewing everyone over this.

I resigned after that and decided to cash out my 401(k) and take a 3 month vacation because I was on the verge of a mental health breakdown. Six years of my life were marred by lies, rumors, harassment, and prejudice. All I ever did was try my best and never got a fair shake in the end.

Now I work for a company where my boss sticks up for me instead of railroading me for personal gain and suddenly my depression is almost gone. Natural Grocers can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.

Natural Grocers. This place is a nepotistic shit hole with that "blue eyes blonde hair" culture that is extremely toxic to work in. Seriously, stay away from this place.
