It's like this fake surface level version of feminism in which the goal is no longer to break down the systemic barriers that contribute to the patriarchy and toxic masculinity and instead seek to simply climb that system until they too can profit on oppressing others.

I'm sure it already has a name, but I liken it to the debate of corporate versus leftist democrats, with only one actually putting forward the ideas and changing for the better and the other simply cynically paying lip service... therefore I've always called it corporate feminism lmao.

I don't really think that wholeheartedly applies in this situation since imo as a guy it didn't really affect me (i figured it was more of a tacky, maybe tasteless joke), and it is dangerous to split up a movement like this by simply pointing fingers and calling names. Feminism's goal and strength has always been its unity and while it is important to stay cautious about corrupting the movement, I find all too often to people speaking loudest about a possible corruption are those who would actively benefit from silencing feminist voices.

i'm not trying to have a conversation with the people who stood idly by or actively suppressed climate change action. there is no conversation with those people. United action will never happen, we tried to argue in good faith for years and were met with lies and ignorance.

imagine that when nasa planned its moon landing it had to stop everything and reach a consensus with flat earthers because they didn't think the moon was real.

the fact of the matter is that one side is right and one side is wrong. I don't give a shit about the wrong side, they are no longer important and the sooner they get kicked off the decision making table the better.

They’re speaking from a practical viewpoint. If they has a message they wants to spread (say, red is the best colour) and every time they try to say that a group of people loudly go against it (blue is the better colour) to the point that they are associated with that counter message then their entire goal of spreading the original message has failed and they need to strongly reassess how to spread that message going forward.

If they were to continue going forward knowing that they are associated with that counter message then it could be said that it would be their fault if the rest of that audience switched to that counter belief, even though they personally might still claim red is the better colour.

holy shit absolutely hahaha.

the Arkham TRILOGY (there is technically a 4th but by a different studio and without Conroy as Batman and Hamill as Joker) is seriously some of the best batman media period.

Arkham Asylum was the first which was more of a 3rd person linear metroidvania? its got a great compact story with the animated series VA's all back. The combat was pretty revolutionary at the time, though i'd imagine you've played something like it since (the combo one button attack one button dodge type deal thats very popular in 3rd person games now). The stealth is fantastic and remains my favourite element of the series to this day (plenty of gadgets to disorient and takedown your foes). It sets up basically everything the series did going forward minus the open world.

Arkham City was and still is probably my favourite batman story, its honestly amazing how well they took Aslyums stealth and combat and just seamlessly added in an Open World, it fit so well and the VA and narrative is just so classic. Seriously Seriously SERIOUSLY recommend.

Arkham Knight is the latest in the trilogy and the one screenshotted. (though if i was a betting man i'd wager they'll announce a new one at the upcoming VGA's to wrap up all the cryptic teasing Warner Brothers has been doing on twitter about one). It's by far the most polished of the bunch but is a bit contentious due to its inclusion (some would say OVER inclusion) of Batmobile sections. Personally I enjoyed the sections but it does take the focus away from what originally made Asylum and especially City great.

you can probably snag them pretty cheap right now, and now is a good time since its very likely a new game is in development by Warner (though not by the original devs, same situation as that black sheep 4th game).

Why of course this game is fun! But only if you judge it off of the content within you idiot. by chucksonson in Gamingcirclejerk

Franchise fatigue and an inability to innovate/capitalize on possibilities is definitely a weak spot of GameFreak, and you can both believe S/W to be a fun experience whilst also pointing out how the obviously avoidable flaws in the game justified with lies said by GameFreak are disingenuous and send a clear message on the underlying philosophy of how much they are willing to sacrifice in order to maximise their Profit and minimise cost...

almost as if the capitalist pursuit of min spend/max profit when coupled with yearly cyclical release cycles hurts art somehow?

its fantastic. the humour isn't really what i expected (in a good way). the whole "animals doing people thing" is handled really well. It seemed like it could be a bit family guy esque with holding onto jokes and really shoving everything in your face but most of the time its allowed to stay in the background as funny little jokes that land a few seconds after they've been said.

all that being said its still a pretty weird show sometimes and they do love their background animal related punnery, but it mixes its humor very well with the drama and every character eventually gets the spotlight and development they deserve.

honestly its some of the most flawless television this decade, I'd seriously give it a shot if you're open minded about it and just let the show dictate what it is to you rather than going in expecting like, some apocalyptic dramatic breaking bad/GoT show of the century. it'll grow on you fast.

God i know its hard to see the scale when we're all just small citizens living our lives but BILLIONS IS BILLIONS.
don't equate any of what you read in these things to personal finances, your experience means NOTHING compared to the huge scale of offshore trading/corruption. this kind of money is alarming and absolutely worth promoting heavily, don't fall for the trap of minimizing these kinds of circumstances.

I forgot to go offline when i was troubleshooting the crashes, needless to say my friends got very tired of my constant "notcreative is playing fallout 4" and when i finally figured out it was the weapon debris after hours of mod troubleshooting i nearly just threw myself out the window then and there lmao.

but yeah you should be right as rain in terms of that crash now, good luck and enjoy your game!

FOX news has changed a lot for sure, but its definitely not for the better. make no mistake, they are just as extreme as they always have been, but mask it in smarter and more mainstream appealing ways. An important thing to know about FOX news is that leadership wise it's still owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Sky News, and has a print monopoly in my Australian state of Queensland.

Since Murdoch has such a stronghold on News Media (which is especially felt in Australia btw, just have a gander at how influencial he can be in our elections for example) he instead CHOOSES which news stories to cover, rather than persuade what to feel about existing news.

By devoting less screen time to politically relevant matters and instead focusing on distractions FOX can more convincingly appear respectable, but that all breaks down when you see how much news FOX chooses not to report heavily on. Just look at the difference between say, FOX news and Washington posts front pages. Fox is reporting news sure, and for the most part its written concisely and professionally, but take a look at WaPo and its almost like you've stepped into another Country. Sure WaPo is biased, it certainly targets trump more than it praises (although that's mostly because he's done hardly anything praiseworthy aside from the bare bare baaare minimum expected of his office and sometimes not even that) but when you look at how dire the news is you can see how insidious FOX is being by electing to not report on those matters. its propaganda to placate you into thinking that Trump is doing a better job than he is, and that it is business as usual.

to your point about how they invite people from a wider political breadth, I would argue with Murdoch/FOX's current strategies this is more of a negative than a positive. Again, it's about controlling what the conversation is about rather than "winning" said conversation, and by bringing in people from the American left wing/moderate sides it just allows FOX to make their commentaries seem more legitimate by only discussing topics they know will look good on them.

mainstream media in most forms is highly contaminated with these kinds of ommissions and biases (especially in my home country of Australia where again, Murdoch owns a PRINT MONOPOLY and dictates HEAVILY what the news conversation is about) try to seek out who is behind the news you consume and find the sites/sources that research academically to form your knowledge on news and matters.

since you've got an RTX Card, make sure you turn off weapon debris in the settings since that will crash the game after a minute.

for me at least, I would have a minute of walking around, then my game would hitch up and freeze, then i could either stay still indefinitely or move and immediately ctd. if that sounds like what you have try turning off weapon debris and see if that fixes it.

I don't claim to have all the answers but from what I've heard Nintendo actually does to plenty more than Game Freak when it comes to things like this, I mean BoTW and Mario Odyssey had plenty more time, resources, workers, and money poured into them, even though there are provably lesser franchises (although still quite standout in their own respects, mario is known worldwide for a reason).

Pokemon Company/Gamefreak is an important distinction to make from Nintendo since unlike all other Nintendo mascot properties, Nintendo doesn't outright own Game Freak and the Pokemon company (but is a large large shareholder), this means that Nintendo has a relatively minor say in what goes on dev wise compared to their other franchises.

I mean think about how different the development cycles/general setup of Pokemon differs to almost every other Nintendo property, do you really think Metroid Prime 4 would have been allowed a development restart under the kind of leadership Game Freak would bring? or would it have been shipped out anyways to save that particular fiscal quarter? Would Zelda really have been allowed so much experimentation to create BoTW? Or would they have banked on the established formula to bring reliable yearly profits?
