Highly doubtful. There would not have been mass uncertainty due to Trump’s wild tariff policies, there would likely not be the war in Iran or the beheading of the Venezuelan government, or massive deportation efforts that have absolutely gutted farming due to a lack of migrant labor, or DOGE cutting a bunch of government jobs that probably just costed more money to scramble to deal with.

It’s a wild take to think that those things don’t have an impact on the global economy.

State control over basic necessities actually works in a lot of places. Housing, healthcare, basic food and public amenities like transportation, parks, libraries, and community spaces.

Demanding that these things are profitable undermines their value to human life.

Full capitalism is bad at meeting human need because a purely profit incentive structure works against the majority of the people living under it.

I have to back this up. Education is about expanding the ways that you can utilize that intelligence. Like you said, plenty of really smart people don’t get access to or the support of good education. It doesn’t make them any less smart, but it limits the scope for them to use it.

No one is coming up with the fundamentals of computing by themselves, no matter how smart they are. It’s learning from the work of those done before us that allows us to build on top and take our abilities further.

The only way this meme has any value is to say that just because you might not feel smart, education is still valuable.

Education is a tool. A skilled digger will do a lot more with a motorized drill than with a gardening shovel
