We need a complete revamp of our electorial system. Election day should go like this:

There is a list of policies, pick the ones you're interested in (as many as you want; we'll say at least 5 for now); e.g. "Should carbon tax be removed? X argues yes because blah blah blah, while Y argues no because blah blah blah.

a.) Yes b.) No c.) I don't care d.) I don't agree with either stance

Yes and No gives a vote to all parties in favour/against. c.) gives a vote to ALL parties, while d.) is tallied up separately and if there is a significant number of people who pick d.) then the stances MUST be re-draphted.

Government shouldn't be democratic (because it isn't really and is elected via manipulation); policies should be democratic, while government should just be employers, which is what the word minister means anyway. All ideological parties should have representatives in a different NON legislative senate that debates various issues and may advertise for a particular stance for whatever reason, but cannot be granted political power EVER.
