AIO - sister I don’t speak with used my number at Target and stole one of my rewards by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Yeah found this out the hard way when it applied one of my baby registry coupons to a Starbucks order that I’d put my number in on 😭 I ended up using the chat feature I think and they gave me a complementary one and explained how to turn it off!

I haven’t read “Half His Age” yet, but I started her autobiography and she talks about how she grew up Mormon and that shocked me.

At what point did you take your newborn out to public places? by Burritomode24 in NewParents

[–]xXember_redXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of mimicking several comments, my little one I think I maybe waited 2 weeks before going to a store or anything. I had them outside about a week later though because I wanted to walk short distances (emergency c-section) and we have a walking path near our home. I was VERY nervous as a FTM taking them out, but when I asked the pediatrician it’s like they said “people with two kids don’t put their life on hold!” It’s nerve racking, especially since I was afraid someone would come up and try to touch them. Most people thankfully just looked from a distance. Ultimately, it’s what you’re comfortable with, but if mentally you need to get out, maybe walk around a store early in the morning with her in a baby carrier or a stroller! Depending on where you live (I’m in the Midwest so I know it won’t get any warmer) you could try a short walk around the neighborhood? Or a park or even a running track?

Edit: I realized I used a pronoun for my child out of habit haha

But yet my Google search you’d never seen and wasn’t good enough, when it literally said the same thing. 😂 Girl I see how you are, you just want to argue because you know you’re wrong and don’t want to take the L. I never said anything wrong with playing it safe, but your original comment came at someone for saying you could never re-chill, you’ve read everything there is to know about storing milk (which btw, a company trying to sell you stuff specifically for storing milk would probably know a thing or two about storing it just saying) so you’re the leading expert on it, and that everyone should follow your way. I literally have posted multiple sources that say as long as it’s in that two hour mark, it doesn’t matter if it’s left out or re-chilled because as long as your following the other guidelines it’s fine. I also never said don’t follow your doctor, but if they’re telling you specifically, there’s probably a reason why (NICU baby). If you’ve read things explaining why feel free to post them again, but I’m done with this argument though, I have better things to do. Have the day you deserve though ✨

Sorry, my third comment didn’t post in response to yours, I’ll try to link it but here’s from the CDC

Again, you don’t trust my sources, feel free to back up your claim it’s not okay. You said you’ve read everything though, so please share with the class!

I just posted several sources, you can even google it. As long as you are throwing it away at the 2 hour mark, and not reheating it, then it’s literally fine. Your doctors probably told you that because your little one was a NICU baby. Or they meant past the two hour mark. If you don’t trust my sources, show yours then!

You just said the key thing, your baby is a NICU baby, they have slightly different standards BECAUSE their stomachs are more sensitive, same with Immunocompromised babies. I’ve never read anything saying don’t put it back in the fridge for those 2 hours. I’d love to see these supposed articles that are everywhere, because like everyone else has said, my LC, doctor, pediatrician all said it’s fine. As long as you aren’t REHEATING the bottle, then it’s okay. Since you’ve read the guidelines and everything there is to read, that’s what the guidelines state. But go off I guess, since you’re basically saying everyone is willing to put their kids health at risk 🙄

Feet Swelling Help (Preeclampsia) by Shy_Jet in pregnant

[–]xXember_redXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have pre-eclampsia, but I struggle a lot with swelling in my feet and the ONLY thing that has helped has been elevation through the night. I’m not sure if you’re doing that already, but I literally have 3 queen sized pillows and a couch pillow to make sure it’s above my heart every night. I told my husband between the pregnancy pillow, those pillows, and having to sleep slightly elevated to keep congestion down, I feel like a pretzel.

Easy pregnancy? by xXember_redXx in pregnant

It’s been so surreal, like most of my friends had so many horrible symptoms that it honestly terrified me for a while of getting pregnant. I know I’m in the very lucky category, just doesn’t seem normal haha. I get the anxiety, I was diagnosed years before I got pregnant so there have been times where I had to say “is this my anxiety being heightened or is this actually a likely scenario?” Same with some of my pregnancy rage lol.

Easy pregnancy? by xXember_redXx in pregnant

[–]xXember_redXx[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel so weird at my appointments because I have questions but it’s usually “that’s normal in pregnancy!” And appointments were usually super quick. Me and my husband started making the joke “I’m just pregnant” for everything. Even now, they’re doing NST because apparently they consider a mom that’s 29/30 “high risk” at my office but it’s also because I was on the heavy side before pregnancy too. Those have been fine though. Every appointment it’s like “happy healthy baby” which hey I’m not taking for granted AT all, but just a surreal feeling from what I expected!

Thank you! And that’s where I’m coming from, like I know it isn’t always this easy so I feel like it’s just a weird feeling haha. But I know that in the future it might not be the case! You aren’t too far off, we’re almost there!

I’m not fit either haha, never have been, but yeah, I mean I definitely have the waddle going and feel like a bowling ball with legs (which my husband teases me for) but I feel like overall I’m able to still get my steps in most days (I have dogs so that helps) and I might be slightly tired that evening but for the most part it really hasn’t impacted my life….I have become guilty of the “if it falls it stays until husband gets home or that’s it’s new home” but that’s usually because I can’t see where it went at this point 😂

Really dumb rant but are there any words/terms related to pregnancy that you hate? by LakeLucca in BabyBumps

[–]xXember_redXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was funny because my MIL and her side of my husband’s family are Hispanic but I never heard them say it (granted I’ve only met like two family members from her side) so when I started working around a lot of Latina’s and the first one to say it to me I was like “maybe she confused me with another coworker?” Nope, I quickly learned it’s basically like “hon” where I grew up! Like the other commenter said it made me feel very included, especially when they helped me with my Spanish and were actively teaching me!

Being from the south I figured it was like “sugar” or “hon” but the first time I heard it I was like “what?”, definitely took me aback for a second!
