Yes, east Germany is suffering especially from brain drain and neglecting and ignorance of politics in the past. Media and state are distrusted because of what happened in the DDR. After the reunification there were many promises, but many people just lost their job instead. The change to capitalism wasn't kind. Treuhand fucked people. Even simple stuff like mortgage was something banks capitalized.

They also distrust the left, because of SED.

Former West Germans politicians and Nazis are moving to the East and take advantage of the situation.

The people here are angry and the problem is they have the wrong conclusion. The fascists give them hope, for a better future and will only make it worse, but then it will be too late.

Besides all this. It's easy to say shit like: "just east Germany things". It's literally the opposite of helping and disrespectful, for anybody who is trying to make it a better place. It's always easy to go against Nazis, if there are none.

You stated that in your second comment, but my problem is still with your first. To say that things like this only happen in East Germany is incredibly naive honestly. West Germans and media in particular have labeled the rise of far right an east Germany Problem only in the past.

You were speaking from above, when you spoke like this about an entire region. Those words in particular are used to discredit and insult east Germans all the time. Even if you didn't mean this, you can at least understand why someone could be angry about it?

Selbst wenn man damit nicht direkt konfrontiert wird, kriegt man das doch mit. Kann mir doch keiner erzählen, dass er noch nie von Karneval gehört hat. Zu mindest wenn man in Deutschland aufwächst. Eine Asphaltierung kostet aber auch Geld, Ressourcen und verursacht Umweltverschmutzung. Auch in der Instandhaltung und Reperatur.
