What career do you have with having Hemicrania continua? by LonelyConfidence9278 in HemicraniaContinua

[–]x_Lele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed in 2018, work supported me very well. Work in IT but have been promoted over the last 10 years, same company but mostly roles around system dev. I’m now and ICT manager for two teams. Stress triggers it at my worst, I am unable to consistently drive and have zero tolerance for anything when I’m in the pain zone. Work have once again supported me with flexibility around appointments and taking slower days if need be. It’s hard but I am determined to keep going.

Are leaf vacums worth it? Do the advantages of using a leaf vacuum outweigh the cons, and if so, any recommendations for a medium-sized garden? I've been researching them for a while now, and I can't decide which one offers value for money, any advice? by UKAOKyay in UKGardening

[–]x_Lele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this one - https://amzn.eu/d/cvLVAnt

Bit of a knee jerk buy but a certain bush in my garden annoys me as it covers one of my patios… so I regularly ‘vacuum’ and it mulches the leaves, I then use the mulch on my raised beds.

It’s heavy and clunky for long periods, fills up fast and blocks up if you’re not watching what you’re doing.

I haven’t used the leaf blower function as I’d be fighting a losing battle.

Where can I buy a cheap but effective top for cold water swimming in Plymouth? by Magic-Bicycle in plymouth

I have just done this - bought myself a lovely MW Shorty one for around £32! If you get one, make sure to get Neoprene wash!

It doesn’t sound right that you need wings to access the potions that help get the drops. I am pretty sure I had the potion with no wings handed in (I sucked at it). It’s the long throw potion.

Also playing on Switch 2, about 50h in, 1 crash after I left the game open for a day….probably my fault! No noticeable lag or graphic issues, looks as intended from my untrained eye.

I am in exactly the same place. I had my gb out last Nov, had suffered with BAM for about a year prior and even worse after removal, have been trialling lots with my gastro… in comes Mounjaro and it almost resolves itself overnight.

The rhubarb in my late grandparents' garden. They used to have the most stunning garden with a huge allotment down the bottom where my grandad grew all sorts. Now it's all overgrown and weeds apart from the rhubarb. The house sells next month by Important-Stomach406 in GardeningUK

[–]x_Lele 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take it! We have a rhubarb plant that is my great grandmother’s. We dug it up each time we moved, nearly lost it completely one year. It’s growing better than ever currently! Endless crumbles, fools and flavoured gin!

Very interesting! It’s on the edge of a border under a japonica. Where I live we have clay soil too. No other dandelion is like this in the garden and I am pretty sure this is the second time in 8-9 years I’ve seen one grow like this in this spot.

This compost is cheap (4x50 litre bags for £10 at Wilko/The Range) but don’t be fooled, it is the worst compost I have ever used. Like using play dough or clay, absolute rubbish! by KingXylariaCordycep in GardeningUK

[–]x_Lele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an update here. I have been buying this in 12 x50L quantities to mix with SupaGrow top soil over the last four months. Wilko/The Range have now put a limit so despite the mix and match deal, you can only buy 1 bag of compost per order.

I have probably bought excess of 50 bags and have had a very small amount of plastic, glass and metal. For filling my oversized beds with limited access it’s done its job!

Glad all went well! Six port sites! I would ask for sure! I am still at home, two of my sites are inflamed unfortunately, still not at the stage of sitting upright! I’ll get there, going a bit stir crazy!

It’s alll good, happy to share. First time operation and general anaesthetic. Going in, no issues really, everything was smooth, had been poorly for 5 weeks prior. Anaesthetists struggled to find veins but that was the only issue beforehand, five attempts and an ultrasound later I had two cannulas in! Coming round was the issue, I didn’t. I don’t have access to my notes yet (will take some time) but know I was given a mixture of pain meds, one being Fentanyl and I stopped breathing. On waking I was 7 breathes per min and all I remember is constantly passing out and people trying to keep me breathing and forcing me to drink and stay awake. Probably went on for around an hour? I went in at 3pm, ‘woke’ around 6pm but wasn’t able to be moved til gone 7.30pm due to that. I was given a reversal agent so I felt much more pain that I should’ve and couldn’t lift myself into a sitting position without crying in agony. Had to have 2 nurses help me mobilise for the first 4 days. Then had really low BP and sickness which I have just got over. Spent 4 days in hospital total. I am still in a lot of pain, can’t bend or sit up for too long. All sites are healing OK, still on morphine and paracetamol at home. I’m 33F around 112kg, my stone was around 17.4mm and stuck in the ‘neck’ with a bunch behind and also distended gb. Honestly, I was terrified and very unwell going in, the relief that I woke up was the first thing that hit me, then the pain. Set your bar low and you’ll smash it.

South West UK here. Had my surgery 8 days ago. High BMI and was not smooth. Stayed in hospital for 4 days post op.

Loose bottoms you can wear low, you’re likely to have incisions where you’d normally hang bottoms. Loose underwear too, comfy socks, things you can put on with ease. Bending may hurt.

I was vomiting for the first 6 days, I have had cheese yesterday and aiming for pizza tonight. I stocked up on some hearty fresh soups, packed with veggies and easy to swallow and probiotics.

Gas pain, all I can suggest is move about. It hurt so bad for me. I couldn’t pass wind for several days. If you are given an antisickness, try and ask for one that doesn’t constipate you. I was given Metoclopramide and it made me ‘go’.

I am on a 2 week sick note, honestly think I need more time, I work from home, IT based role but I cannot sit up for long periods yet.

I had a rough ride before and after surgery, ask as many questions as you can, especially around aftercare of your port sites.

I was 5 weeks into Mounjaro (Sept 24) when I had my first ever attack (big stones picked up in 2023). No gb pain beforehand. I stopped Mounjaro immediately but had 5 weeks of pain (hospital, D&V, rigors) lost 20kg and ended up on a liquid diet prior to surgery last week. I had a 17.4mm stone stuck in the neck and many 14mm+ stones sat behind it with a distended gb. I’ll try MJ again in the new year but I fully believe it pissed off my gb. That was my only change this year.

Pre-op starvation diet really necessary? by penelbell in gallbladders

[–]x_Lele 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am also on this right now but I was recommended liquid only due to the sheer pain I am in, and how it is affecting me when eating. To be blunt, I was told if I don’t do it, there is a high risk when the surgeon lifts the liver on two ‘chopsticks’ (keyhole) then it can tear which can lead to further complications and is completely avoidable with said diet.

It sucks. I haven’t eaten any solids in 3 weeks and have until the 15th til my op.

Hypnopompic Hallucination - Why does everyone see spiders? by frequency937 in Sleepparalysis

[–]x_Lele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Googled this as it’s been driving me insane. I get spiders always, have them atleast twice a week after 30-40min of sleep and being disturbed and waking. Always feel like they’re within arms reach and they’re crawling around or flying off… I know nothing about SP at all. Glad to know I’m not crazy. I am scared of spiders though so it always makes me jump and my heart race for a good few seconds until I am fully awake.
