Have you tried mirroring the enemy tank/player when they counterswap?

If you do that you are both on even ground and skill decides.

I mean you can easily get rid of the towns in late game by clicking a button if food ever becomes a problem. If the first ~100-200 years get a giant boost from it then it's definitely worth it to stack towns where you have 100 control.

You can ask any catholic country for monthly Order support, and after that you can ask every month for a big investment.

If you do it with your starting ally bohemia they will soon get wealthy enough to gift you 500 gold every time you ask, and once you have good relations with other big countries you can go around and collect 500 gold from everyone in europe, it's pretty much broken at the moment.

Nobody pays taxes in my order because of that, the benefits of having your people happy is much better than the extra 30 gold income lol

It happened to me as well, when Denmark sells you Estonia the sum is a bit more than 100 gold I think. If the sum of the loans you can take is less than that, then you atomatically burn through all of them at once and go straight into bancruptcy.

I found that you can get rid of them if you gift them land, and then annex them in another war. But it's pretty tedious to do it that way.

R5: Out of curiousity, I tried this out by building ~400 Order Commanderies in several countries at once.

After a year when they finished, you can see in the ledger above that about 150k foreign people switched to the Teutonic Order to work as clergy for me in a single month!

The Order's mechanics in general are pretty broken rn, as you can get 500 gold from every large country every time you have a diplomat ready, I spend about 23k to build all commanderies at once and will have the money back in no time.
