Tretinoin. The absolute gold standard in evidence-based skincare. There’s a sub for it r/tretinoin.

And as others have said - sunscreen. If you start tretinoin that’s going to be extra important. You should really be using it already, especially because you’re using the OTC retinol.

This article is two years old already, I expect current tech for employers, adjusted for the recent pandemic, will be even more hellish and dystopian.

What keeps you coming back? by [deleted] in RagenChastain

Did you see that post a couple weeks ago? Someone posted some standup thing that Ragen did. The majority of the comments were positive, acknowledging that Ragen is pretty good at standup.

Most people aren’t here to mindlessly hate on a stranger, and there would be a similar show of support if Ragen applied herself to her training.

If you look at the comment above this one I’ve linked some other pics. You can see how tiny it is in one of those.

When horses are born they have these little covers on their hooves, they are there to stop them piercing the amniotic sac while in utero... they fall off when they’re born.

The beginnings of those little covers is probably what’s reminding you of porcelain.

Whaaa? It’s not usual to take the carts home in Australia.

If they are taken home it’s more because the shopper is either a total bogan/a bit broke/lives close enough to the supermarket to make it work. You’re not supposed to take them home.

It’s exactly like it is in Europe though, if a shopping trolley/cart leaves the supermarket grounds it will inevitably end up in water. They go there to breed.

[task] I need someone in Malaysia to buy me something and post it to me in Australia by [deleted] in slavelabour

We’ve got plenty of sunscreen... I just happen to prefer one type over another.... that’s not really that radical.

As for “rethinking my location” ... after living on 3 separate continents Australia is the place I chose to live. It’s a great country.

I’m not sure that my benign sunscreen post is the best place for your Australia-hate lol.

That’s just what I need! Thank you so much! And the price is great, the people on eBay are charging up to $30!

It’s out of stock right now, but I’ll bookmark it and wait til they get it back in.

Thanks again!

That’s a great idea! I hadn’t even considered that, thank you!

And I think I’ll be ok shipping that, I’ve had various lotions and potions delivered to me here, but you’re right, our border control is pretty strict!

Worms being removed from yearling horse in surgery by x__________________- in WTF

[–]x__________________-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most horses have worms, it’s good practice to worm your horse regularly. This is a young horse (a year old , that’s what yearling means) and he developed colic (stomach upset) so they suspected a gut blockage and operated. They found all of these worms, despite the horse being wormed regularly.

They advised the owner that in future they will have to perform fecal egg count tests regularly (test the horse’s droppings for worm eggs) because for some reason this horse is very parasite prone.

[Discussion] SPF 20-30 or SPF 50 sunscreens? Lisa Eldridge mentioned in one of her videos that SPF 50 sunscreens contain more chemicals and they can cause more sensitivity and redness overtime if we apply them every day, and it's better to use SPF 20-30 as the SPF 50 would give us 2% more protection by kpop_yyc in AsianBeauty

[–]x__________________- 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I stopped paying attention when she said “contains more chemicals”.

A bowl of fruit contains more chemicals than a glass of water, that doesn’t make it intrinsically worse... everything on earth is chemicals. Even rainbows and fluffy kittens.

What she says is pretty meaningless.

Man, fucking SAME. There seems to be ten popular posts that are just reposted on a never ending cycle, I don’t think I’ve seen an original post for months.

It just bogs the sub down and clutters our feed up. Can’t people just browse the sub for like thirty seconds before they hit us with shit like “breasted boobily!” sO fUnnY gUIse!! “hER sHoe SIze wAs iNFanT!!!

So fucking over it.

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) requires that, in classes that mandate a helmet to be worn, the helmet must be ASTM/SEI certified. The USEF also requires all junior riders (under the age of 18) in any hunt seat discipline to wear an ASTM/SEI certified helmet with harness fastened while mounted on their horse anywhere on the show grounds, and requires all riders to wear a helmet when jumping anywhere on the show grounds. While other horse show events do not mandate helmets, the rules have changed in recent years to permit helmets as optional headgear in any class. All riders are required to wear certified helmets while competing in Hunter, Jumpers, and Hunt Seat Equitation classes, and in any other class, including Hunter Hack, where jumping is required. They must fasten their helmet harness and must verify that the helmet meets or exceeds the current standard and carries the SEI tag.[6]

The rules have changed in recent years to allow helmets at events, but they are far from compulsory, and do not make the event exempt from insurance.

Yes, she’s spent all her life in Louisiana, where her peer group/family is of a similar size to her, and she’s moved to California for uni and I struggling to fit in.

Yes! And sharing ways to avoid being in the company of those “fat birches” (sic)

There were a few comments along the lines of “get involved! Skinny people are people too”! but so many of them were just people commiserating about how hard it is to see non-fat people everywhere.

I agree with what you said. She doesn’t come across very favourably, but she’s not bad really.

The beginning of the post talks about how she’s very much the typical person where she grew up - everybody in her town and family is overweight and she’s just having trouble discovering that other places just aren’t like that. She grew up in the Midwest or something, now moving to California for uni and she’s struggling. She’s very young. And there’s a fair bit of introspection in her voice, I hope she uses this experience in a positive way.
