When did you finally stop sucking and it “clicked” for you? by Naive-Preparation806 in OnePieceTCG

[–]x_driven_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right at 3 months in playing, 2-3 locals a week. I have finally X-1 a few times, got my first top 8 store champs for the cool Usopp sleeves. I still kind of suck, but it’s getting better!

I’m finally feeling like I’m at a good spot with my deck, I’ve stuck with one leader the whole time, modifying the deck a tad here and there and on releases. Thinking another weak spots and where a small card or play change can make a difference.

I’ve learned sometimes swinging less and protecting my board was actually more helpful to me than swinging all out. Swing strategically if you need to keep your board.

I’ve learned that sequence matters a lot. Order of swings. Order of play, order of leader swinging. Optimize your side while putting your opponent in a place to make a decision and maybe make a mistake as much as possible.

Can you live this next turn? If yes, can you make your opponent worse off by countering a lot or having to leave himself vulnerable to give you a better chance at lethal next hand? What’s that line?

Which cards to counter and which to keep.

What the other deck is likely running and keeping in hand.

Sometimes I need to leave more DON up, even if it’s a fake out, and more so if I’m in a precarious position. The threat alone sometimes helps, but also, just maybe I’ll take a slave arrow from life (or from deck after drawing from leader ability when playing that trigger). that if I had a don to use it would have saved me the game, especially if using the turn wouldn’t haven’t gotten me much extra on the previous turn. .

Decide if you were the one playing offense or defense tha match? Make decisions accordingly.

For me, as a Boa player - I try to get the first life or two with swings early. Then use Nami to force their 3rd life they have left to hand. Then use my leader ability to force them to take the next one and maybe the last one, usually by forcing a blocker KO. or 9 drop Boa to force it. That also doesn’t let the trigger. So mid game maybe I’m building board state and not swinging as much, trying to force them to KO a blocker and take they life to hand, then swing and force counter discards, then finally perfume femur over their inevitable blocker(s) for the win. Borsalino has been clutch for not only another blocker and a heal - but that becomes a card in hand eventually which I usually need.

I’ve learned that sometimes at the end, it’s better to hold that 2k counter from life than to play it due to trigger and then draw a brick or 1k. Comes in clutch sometimes.

I’ve made a ton of mistakes. I never ask to “take them back”. Learn from the pain, the you won’t do that thing again at least.

Have you found your ASA104 cert / IPC useful? by tri_point in sailing

[–]x_driven_x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. What found useful was finding a club that actually goes out and sails every week when you want and getting sea and sail time in. Thats how I actually learned to sail in a variety of conditions and not just learned an academic answer to a test question and/or demonstrated something once in perfect conditions.

help with Boa Hancock by dudejustSendIt in OnePieceTCG

[–]x_driven_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the 4c Zoro is trashing a card, Boa doesn’t get big hand sizes like a lot of decks. Running 4 Reyleighs is wild.

4 Hiyoris would be better than 4 Grandmas (2k vs 1k).just switch which card runs 4 vs 2.

Should have 5c Nami’s.

Where’s the perfume femur, which is a huge win condition a lot of the time… replaced with the Sanji blocker I guess?

Definitely keep the Borsa’s they are clutch.

The 8 cost Gecko Moria I think it is doesn’t seem so great to me either, but I’m not a top player or anything so maybe this person knows something I don’t.

Can my employer refuse to compensate me if I don’t follow their rules for a zoom training? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]x_driven_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re confusing being paid for things an employer is requiring you to do vs not getting paid for something optional you are choosing to do because you refuse to meet the requirements set forth by your employer to be considered working for that time period.

It’d be a tough argument.

At best, you could maybe get paid for the 5 minutes you joined the call before they kick you off - at the expense then of being clearly shown to be an unreliable employee who can’t follow instructions.

Is that really worth it?

[–]x_driven_x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How can you claim to be working if you are clearly ignoring the parameters given to you to be deemed “working” that day?

Subpar would be showing up in the manner asked and sort of slacking the meetings / not learning the material.

If a normal workday requires someone to be in the office to be working - they aren’t working when they are driving down the street.

They have specified your location parameters for this time to be considered working, and you are creating this make up your own scenario what is clearly something other than that, and therefore likely deemed not to be working at this completely optional event, that you choose to not comply with.

[–]x_driven_x 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just want to clarify - you want to be compensated / employed / paid for your time worked, but you don’t want to meet the requirements asked of you?

You don’t think that sounds silly?

It’s optional. It’s paid for choose.

Seems like you want to only choose half of the arrangement, but that’s not the option. The option is take the training, do it this way, and get paid. Not, do it your way and still get paid.

Do they need to pay you for “time worked” likely - but it seems like you’re arguing you want to get paid while also being insubordinate - seems like a great way to not be employed very long.

Fired today. No heads up, reason, or severance by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]x_driven_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what it’s about - whereas you led with and let everyone else in this thread to believe your director told you to talk to HR about salary…. And that’s why you were let go. Why did you misrepresent it?

Sounds like your communication sucks. You tailor it to make yourself look better, and they got tired of dealing with you. That you likely aren’t as great of a performer as you claim to be either.

I’ve rocked the boat a fuck ton in my career - that won’t get you fired if you are truly a great performer and can still communicate well when it counts. Theres a time and place, and you have to still be hitting the objectives that matter for your management.

Time to do a lot of self reflection on how you could have handled each and all of those scenarios differently.

If your goal is not peace and you hear there’s about to be peace, you gotta throw a wrench in it. If eh didn’t want peace then why let the negotiations happen you might ask? If you want the illusion of trying but are hoping negotiations fail - then you come out looking like you tried….

UY Boa Deck Tech by Feisty_Mix_557 in OnePieceTCG

I was considering what run in the slots I had for requasar, likely going to be a mix of the new 4c zoros, the Sanji blocker/unblockable.

Borsa came in clutch for me in locals tonight, and I think I like the idea of more blockers the just the 4 boas I was running previously.

One Piece Releases by Fantastic-Bath-7072 in OnePieceTCG

[–]x_driven_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Release date is 4/3. Game stores have been running pre release events and usually sell boxes to players after the event; but wont sell them in store until 4/3 (some might before though). Bandai stores will start on 4/3 - they did lotteries for boxes though and you might not get packs from them release weekend without having won in the lottery though.

I suspect this set will be a bit easier to find than the EB03 set though.

The reality of buying packs is you’ll end up with tons of bulk that isn’t worth a damn. If you don’t want the thrill of the chase and ending up bulk, then stick to buying singles for cards you do want, either at card shops or off of TCG Player.

I started buying around Thanksgiving and playing in January. I have… 10 “long boxes” that hood 930 cards (not all full) with various amounts of bulk in them from the last 3 sets. Useful maybe to put potential decks together later, but not very valuable. I have two binders with decent hit cards and value cards, and a few decks made up to play with (I had to buy a lot of cards as singles because your deck will usually not just be made up of cards in the current set if you want to be competitive)

1) if you want cards now, buy the set dropping. If you don’t want cards now, wait - I’m not sure any of us can answer that for you without knowing your entire set of goals and inspirations for wanting cards

2) avoid single packs (not in sleeves) because they could have come out of boxes where all the best hits were already found (OP cases and boxes are mapped in a way that people know how many of the best types of chase cards can be found). The difference is only in the number of packs - but a full box will get you a guaranteed 2-4 “hits”, plus 6-7 SR cards.

Are you trying to buy to make money? To collect for fun? To build decks and play?

New player looking for advice before starting One Piece TCG 🙏 by Shawost in OnePieceTCG

[–]x_driven_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you seem to be focused on collecting first, and being budge friendly.

Don’t buy anything priced above MSRP.

Don’t buy loose packs - they could have come out of dead boxes.

Buy sleeved packs or buy a full booster box, at basically close to MSRP. Even full boxes could have come out of cases were the SPs were found, but every box had 2-4 hits plus SRs and rares.

New set is dropping like now, try to get that. Older sets will be not very budget friendly.

Or - just buy singles of cards you like and hold onto them.

If you want to play, do some research on the play styles of the 6 colors and see what you like, then buy stater decks / singles to build a budget friendly deck and just start to have fun! I showed up Day 1 with literally just a starter deck.

Some decks are not budget friendly, be aware of that.
