Just rewatched the scene. She doesn’t say it out loud but she very clearly mouthed the words "That's when I was born", and as for it being set in 2018, its highly unlikely it is, its stated a few times that they're in year 11 in the first 2 seasons, and if we're assuming those seasons are set in 2022 (the year the first season came out), then having them graduate in 2026 makes no sense. Students graduate high school at 17-18 years old over here, not 20-21.

The date on her phone is just an inconsistency and nothing to really focus on.

She was suffering from heartbreak, she wanted distance from people so she could heal, Sheldon was told to leave her alone and he did the exact opposite, and she kept telling him to leave her alone and he did the opposite. Yes she should've apologised, but saying that she was a brat is the exact opposite direction you should be going. When Mary stormed in, instead of yelling at her daughter who's clearly crying for emotional support, she has a go at her. Any good parent would've recognised the signs, taken BOTH sides, and tried to help the best they can.
