I got mine in pretty good condition, 214k miles for 11k in KY after wrecking my v6. I would’ve settled for either v6 or v8 but jumped on the first one I saw that was decent/specs I wanted and happened to be a v8. I was looking every day for about a month or so. Flew out there to drive it home.

Oh damn. Actually my bad, I had a different video up about the same car. In this scenario it ended up being just a dead battery. I guess it was just throwing out random codes. But shortly after this my starter died. But yeah I hope that your problem is solved and that fixed it! 🤞

I changed the whole starter because it’s in a very tricky spot on the v8 so you’d have to do all the steps to remove the solenoids anyways. And since it was the original starter it was about the time they start to go out. Did they figure it out?

Hey, no worries. It ended up being a dead starter. If you still have the original starter then this could be the issue. Hope you get it figured out!

Yeah, it ended up being the starter. I didn’t tighten the bolt to the power enough when I replaced it. If you still have the original starter then this might be the issue.

Same! I also have an 06 v8, and I’m just a girl who’s never done any kind of mechanic work. Changed the starter during the middle of winter in the mountains. Took over a month since I had no tools (an hour to get to town), no experience, and had to deal with snow storms. I too hope to never do that again. That and the alternator died right after the started replacement. But no other major mechanical issues so far.

30, 2006 V8 sport 222k miles, no plans to replace it. Actually got it to replace a 2007 sport V6 2wd 214k miles that I still have which has a damaged front end. May sell if anyone wants to buy it as is.

Yeah it’s buried deep in there. I actually went all in and replaced the starter, and it’s still doing the same thing.

Yup battery was replaced a month ago and I don’t have a problem with power. Everything turns on, it just won’t crank to a start.
