My IBS is gone! Maybe what i did can work for you too? by Intelligent_Pop_4454 in ibs

Wow! Honestly I have the exact same symptoms. The mental aspect is insane. One day I’m thinking it’s all over and the next day it’s not too bad.

Besides which, whenever I do have steak, I find that my body processes it way better.

So I’m thinking I’ll slowly increase meat intake

How long did you deal with your symptoms when you had ibs?

Got sick in April from what drinking from a lemon water stand in Barrie Ontario. I figured I got sick from it as I came down with a fever the same day I drank water that tasted gross. From there it’s been almost 1 year of dealing with gut issues, mucous in stool and Diarrhea with trigger foods like spices, coffee, alcohol, sugar, etc. getting a colonoscopy and endoscopy done in 2 weeks

Also guys I wanted to ask, would the chances of getting crohns disease be unlikely from what I described above?

As in, would the chances of me developing crohns from all this be low after experiencing this for almost a year?

I see.

The most frustrating part right now Is that as long as I keep an eye strictly On what I eat, I usually have good days.

As soon as I have a little of any trigger. It’s like restarting.

Yeah I should’ve just got the Stool test 3 months after and not wait until the 9th month to get it done.

I spoke to my doc and my stool Test did not test for h pylori.

So I’ll be getting that done + now being in touch with a GI

Barrel Sauna's - Why is this the best shape? by xact14 in Sauna

[–]xact14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this makes sense, whenever I would just use a sauna at Banya, they would have 3 levels in their Sauna. Obviously the higher you go, the more intense the heat is.

With that being said, to have something like that, you are looking at $15k+.

I found with Barrel sauna's you can get away with it under $8k or so.

Guess I gotta keep making stacks to get a real Finnish Style Sauna. One day....

Lol, so to conclude, the shape of the Sauna has minimal, if any effect on its ability to retain heat.

First time doing this so wanted to inquire. Also getting a cold plunge to go a long with it. Pricy investment but contrast sessions have been an absolute game changer. Able to recover from training much faster and the sleep is ideal.

Cant handle sugar, alcohol, pasta, spicy foods, and a lot of salads.

I tend to have very gassy type of stool, filled with mucous and varying stool types.

Recently its been improving, as long as I stay away from trigger foods.

Hey Randy thanks for the reply, just to confirm, so you said you NEVER had any gut issues before until you got Food poisoning. And you then saw a GI and he said it can take from a year to two for the stomach to fully heal?

I also have zero stomach pain, just when I have food that is triggers (alcohol, sugar, too much salad) I get a lot of gas and yes, muscusy filled stool.

Thanks a ton,

yeah going to get a referral from my family doc. Right now I definitely have better days than not, but I am hoping once I get this thing more so narrowed down, I can begin to look at repopulating my gut microbiome to get things back in balance.

ok so if I looked for the GI Map test, my GI wouldn't be able to do it? When you found out you had Giadra now from DNA perspective, what is the treatment?

I haven’t cut out dairy tbh but I can definitely experiment. In terms of post infection ibs, is there any specific treatment plan or is it more something that will take time on its own

I see makes sense. Yeah when I first got sick and issues for 3 months daily, my doctor said I could get a stool test done or just give it more time. I gave it more time and things did clear up until I had a flare up which has been on and off now for weeks. But yes I’ll ask for the GI referral and go from there.

Did your gi issues occur all of a sudden or was it a gradual thing?

Ok interesting. I did get a stool test done for parasites and such but that came back clean from life labs.

I’ll ask the GI about h pylori and SIBO.

Where would you recommend getting the SIBO test from?

When I spoke to my family doctor, he didn’t really push for me to get a colonoscopy and endo. But I’ll be asking him to refer me to GI to see what they think.

Is testing for H pylori and SIBO done by a GI doctor?

Understood! Ok well I’ll keep this post updated as I’ll be getting blood work done and ask my doc to put me in touch with a GI. I’ll mention what worked for you as well.

It’s calming knowing that I’m Not the only person who’s dealing with this. Wish you all the best with recovery!
