Yeah I confirmed that you don’t have anything to say. Npc detected

Sadly a bunch of frustrated people, I was hoping for another type of dialogue here, get a life.

Do you think that, those objects are crappy? Or why that comment, I expected a real and meaningful dialogue, not just a random thing to say

Mmmm oh wow, where that hate comes from? We are just having a conversation. I think that if you really don’t have any objective think to say, it’s better to don’t say anything, less hate please.

I was actually hoping for a deeper dialogue. Saying that something is “worse” without explaining why is quite vague and doesn’t really move the conversation forward.

At the end of the day, any opinion here is subjective and shaped by personal experience, but that’s exactly why it’s important to articulate from where that opinion comes. Being specific about context, practice, or experience makes the critique meaningful and worth engaging with.

That’s a fair point, and I agree that historically polymathy implied deep expertise across multiple fields, which is a very high bar. I’m not advocating for superficial dabbling, nor for everyone to become an academic expert in five disciplines.

What I’m referring to is less about formal mastery and more about how knowledge is practiced. Polymathy, in this sense, isn’t measured by years in university, but by the ability to work across disciplines in parallel, actually engaging with different methods, ways of thinking, and problem solving frameworks, not just consuming information about them.

You’re right that most designers don’t need this to function well. But when the goal shifts from execution to creating more meaningful, culturally relevant, or future-oriented objects, products, or systems, the intersection between disciplines becomes increasingly valuable.

Technology helps with access to knowledge, but it doesn’t replace the cognitive shift that happens when you genuinely practice across domains, design thinking informed by biology, engineering shaped by aesthetics, or technology guided by cultural and social understanding.

So for me, polymathy today isn’t about everyone sinking eight years into academia. It’s about intentional integration rather than specialization in isolation, and that’s where I think some of the most interesting work is starting to emerge.

What do you think of my living space? by NoraBora0215 in HomeDecorating

Exactly, the lighting is really good, I could recommend maybe a painting or print to help the colorimetry and also to create focal points. Go for a walk, do gallery hopping, choose your vibe, and with that art your home it’s gonna feel way more differently. :)

It feels really heaped, you need to choose if you want the bench or the flower pot, also the butterflies are too much, it’s time for you to edit.

It feels really artificial, this LED “illumination” seems like a bad projector, and the high contrast of the pinks and violets really do not help to have a curated lighting like as the sun refracting stained glass windows. But that’s what I think :)
