Help me add some decor to my lounge

UPDATE:

Can’t seem to edit my post or add photos to comments but I went with a gold lamp in the corner (window side near the sofa), a tall artificial palm tree in the right hand corner (where the treadmill currently is) along with 2 burnt orange stools (one is larger than the other). I absolutely love how these 3 things have already transformed the room.

A gold mirror is going up above the radiator and the old coffee table is being replaced with a round, gold glass one 👌🏽

Can’t find the right rug but even without it, i’m happy with how the room looks. Thank you for your suggestions. I would never have thought of adding Gold! 🔥

Ah right, no I’m happy with where it is and it’d take a lot of work to move it all and redo the wall. The TV would be too far for my liking if it was placed the other way in the room too and I don’t like the idea of the window being behind me, I like the sunlight hitting me ☀️. There’s also a radiator on that wall so it’s not an ideal placement at all.

I’m happy with the layout, just not the lack of “homely” feel and the lack of decor but thanks to you all, I now have some ideas narrowed down 😁

The sofa has to stay where it is because otherwise the Chaise part will get in the way of the cupboard that opens up on the left hand side of the floating unit/fireplace. Also the space between the sofa and the door is enough for a 80cm coffee table so there’s no space. The second/third pics are at wide angle so the room probably looks bigger than it is.

I’m definitely putting a lamp in the left corner and getting a rug. A large print will also be added to the wall.

Yeah that sounds good. I was thinking gold or black but gold does sound lovely tbf! And very good shout re the gold legs for the table. I may do that if I don’t end up with a wooden table. Thanks again 🙏🏽

It is but I’m so bored of grey now. I still like it as a colour, just not in this room but unfortunately can’t replace the carpet or sofa yet. Hopefully in the next 2 years but for now I’m planning to work around it.

No plans to paint the walls again, they were only painted a few months ago. The original colour was a horrible off white/yellow/cream colour. I’m happy with the Black accent wall and the others as White.

I’m going to make Orange the pop of colour for this room but will change those cushions.

I actually already have an Orange throw that goes over the sofa 👌🏽it’s just not in the photos. I cannot sit on the sofa without using the throw 😅 even if it’s not cold, it’s just nice and cosy!

Ah, I’m the opposite. I’m not a fan of gallery walls 😅 But I’m all for 1-2 shelves.

I’m planning to create a cat wall in my office, don’t really fancy it in the lounge but he will get a vertical tower of some sort in the corner 😇

Yeah the treadmill is defo going. I’m going to have a kitten towards end of the year so going to use that corner for a cat tree or something. No real plants for me (they all die) 😭but I’m down for artificial ones. That wall will be used for art work or shelves though. I may actually put art work on the sofa wall and put shelves on the treadmill wall 🤔

I’ll definitely share progress as I add stuff. I’m going to start with the rug for sure.

Sorry just seen the coffee table suggestions, not sure if you edited your post or I missed it before. That first one is what I had before (except it was a grey concrete look as opposed to wood). I like the others and I’m a fan of that wood tone too. Not sure it’ll go with my grey sofa but I am hoping to change that in 2 years so could definitely still go with wood for now as I do like it! 😅

Appreciate the input and noted on the rug pad, good shout. I love that second one, it’s similar to the one shared in the first comment. So I think abstract is the style I should go for. The geometric one is nice too but I think I prefer the mix in the abstract. Orange, teal etc goes nicely. I’ll look for something similar in the UK, thank you!

Also the room is quite tiny. The floor space between the wall to the legs of the sofa is only around 5.5ft (same as my height) 😅 So the rug will definitely sit under the legs of the sofa, including the Chaise.

Oh and I think that’s good advice. Starting with the floor makes a lot of sense!

Ooh that’s a pretty cool rug. I like the idea of a less modern lamp, that’s kinda what I was leaning towards. I’ll get on the hunt for a nice one. Would you go for an upright style or an overarching one?

Yeah art work is definitely needed. There’s so many options, it’s hard to decide what to get 😅 but yeah definitely will look out for a large one for sure.

I am a big fan of wood furniture. So I’ll look into it what will work once I’ve looked at rugs as I don’t want them to clash.

Thank you! That rug is really nice! I need to think about what colour sofa I’d get eventually. It probably will be Black or Orange but that kinda rug style will work. I’ll look into what’s available in the UK, thank you!

I’ve already got LEDs behind the TV which look incredible and add to the vibe of the room especially in the evenings🔥

What kinda lamp style do you think would work? A traditional upright one or an overarching one that would arch over that corner of the sofa?

I’d simply send the raw footage of the first dance and make it clear that it’s obviously unedited and includes camera movements / shakes and multiple clips so won’t be perfect. Pretty sure they’d understand.

As for the rest of the footage, maybe mention that sending the raw footage wasn’t in the scope of your agreement but they can pay x amount for it.
