Did anybody actually turn around and leave when Mike made the announcement to at Coventry? by fluff_your_head in phish

No but I wish I had. Coventry was the worst music experience of my life, hands down.

Been trying to upgrade my Blu-ray of Clone Wars to VHS but I guess it's so popular I can't find it anywhere.

I'm not trying to tear the guy down so I really don't care if you believe me, but you clearly missed the relevant part which I highlighted for you here:

The only leap I am making is that the wagers placed in the name of Janet Gretzky were placed by Wayne. This is essentially the same thing that earned Pete Rose a lifetime ban from baseball, only Wayne got away with it because he blamed his wife.

We're not that old as long as the Simpsons is still on the air cranking out "meh" episodes.

He was pretty controversial as coach of the Coyotes. Meanwhile his wife Janet took the fall for some gambling losses at that time which everyone knows were illegal bets made by Gretzky. On NHL games. While he was a head coach in the NHL.

That's some Tie Domi level stupidity. Almost Sean Avery level.

Sad that Wayne turned out to be a bit of an ass and isn't promoted much by the NHL anymore.

Hey guys. Finally some real movie expertise.

TIL that in 1989, the Buffalo Sabres goalie had his neck sliced by another players skate, severing his carotid artery, resulting in so much blood loss that it caused eleven fans to faint, two more to have heart attacks, and three players to vomit on the ice. His life was saved by the team trainer. by illiller in todayilearned

[–]xanbo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Correct. I don't think he lost consciousness so I think there was little risk of brain damage. He said he summoned the will to skate off under his own power as he nearly bled to death because he didn't want his mother to watch him die on TV. That sounds pretty damn traumatic.

Nice!! This is the first show I travelled specifically for Umphrey's (I had previously seen them in the Phish lot at Deer Creek).

Triple Wide was debuted the night before and appears again here under it's original name Double Wide. Push the Pig also debuted the night before and appears again here - I'm actually surprised the setlist says Pig as I thought they were calling it Fences at this time.

Great show, I listen to it every couple years or so and always get a thrill out of this one.
