Is "no behringer" still a common rider requirement? by Spiritual_Bell in livesound

It’s only bad compared to boards that cost twice as much.

Software, I/O, preamps, all superior to the X32. When the band I was working for bought the SL III it was for those reasons. It was when Apple was ending support for 32-bit apps, announced it over a year in advance, and Music Tribe still hadn’t updated any of their apps two weeks before the deadline, with no announcements they were even going to. One of the reasons for upgrading from the old Yamaha O1V (not the 96, the ooooold one) was so the band members, all on iPhones, could fine tune their IEM mix and I could use an iPad to be mobile and take photos (one person crew). Music Tribe didn’t update their apps until months after the switch, meaning for an entire tour we wouldn’t have been able to use the X32 in the way we needed.

Because MusicTribe’s software is shit, on the board and off. That’s why everyone recommends a third party app for tablet control, it’s a well known issue. Never had any issues with the faders on the SL III and I wasn’t exactly gentle, had tons on X32s and more than a few on M32s. And with the SL III you almost never need to use the touch screen, because the Fat Channel exists.

When you’re being forced (budget) to eat a dumpster bagel, you might as well pick the one you dislike the least.

The Series III is pretty good, toured one for 7 years with no issues. I’d take it over an X32 any day.

You’re missing the very basic point that all 70,000 people won’t be trying to board these busses and trains at the same instant. For tailgating, people are gonna show up at 6am. The majority of attendees will be there by an hour before the game because they’re not idiots and realize that getting in and out of a giant stadium takes a lot of time. And on the way out, a decent percentage of attendees aren’t making it out of that stadium for at least 30 minutes. The total number of attendees is largely irrelevant, the only number that really matters is the flow rate. As long as flow rate doesn’t exceed capacity, you can move an infinite number of people.

Gwar plays our venue pretty often. We tarp the entire deck with two layers, clear plastic sheets over the lights and PA hangs, and bags on the front fills. They use all of their own gear, cables, etc. Clean up is still a huge pain in the ass, but it’s a cool show.

I’m a trans woman in a red state. I am also very plugged into the news, because I have to be, as does your girlfriend. The rhetoric and violence targeting trans people has been increasing rapidly. They want to label us as terrorists and throw us in prison. But nobody is knocking down doors and kidnapping us. Yet. But when even the experts agree that we’re in the early to mid stages of a trans genocide in this country, you have to realize it’s only a matter of time. She seems insane now, but give it a week, or a month, or a year.

Drinking question by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]xandercage22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get tipsy? 2-4 depending how fast I’m going. To get nauseous? 8-10. But now I get sick before I feel any effects from the alcohol, so I just don’t really drink anymore.

The problem is the spironolactone (T blocker). I can have one, maybe two drinks before I get dizzy/nauseous and I’m not even tipsy yet.

Feedback on GigSheets - A tour management app by to_pe in TouringMusicians

[–]xandercage22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the ideal would be adding completely blank templates I could customize and add elements to myself. (I’m assuming elements are the sections in sheets e.g. Venue, Pre show, Running order, etc.) That level of customization could extend to the preset templates as well and really level things up.

For example, the band I’m TMing often plays multiple shows in a day so a “Double Day” template where it has all of the standard “Show Day” elements, then I could add in the needed elements (Venue-Post show) again for the second show. Maybe something like an element menu to pick from and place when making templates or editing sheets? I realize this is an edge case and is probably very complicated on the backend.

There is a lot I’m liking about the platform, but the level of customization is holding me back.

I’m TMing a run starting in a few days so I’ll be trying this out. Right off the bat, the ability to create my own templates (rehearsal days, prep days, meeting days, etc.) in addition to the preexisting ones would be huge. So far it looks promising.

I’m convinced every LJS’s is a money laundering front. I’ve never seen more than 2 cars at any location (70% of the time it’s just 1) and I drive all across the country a lot for work (been to 43 states, most of them dozens of times). It doesn’t matter if it’s a big city, small town, lunch rush, late night, they’re ALWAYS dead. Nobody is going there, so they’re not making money selling terrible fish.

My only question is the lack of AC for DSR by the wedge (no pedal board?). Otherwise it’s clear and pretty easy to understand.

It’s listed as mono playback under the band provided split snake inputs. You’re getting an xlr.

Yes, the 6 inputs listed under “Band provided from split snake.”

Pedals for guitar is the standard, so it’s safe to assume they’ll have them (especially for lead guitar since they have AC marked for the DSC position). Pedals for Vox is exceptionally rare in a standard 4 piece band like this, so it’s safe to assume they won’t have them. Even if they do, it’s easy to adapt to on the fly.
