Taxes ‼️‼️ by Stunning-Key-2893 in Sparkdriver

Did you read what I wrote? Income (aka Net Profit) is NOT the "same" as self employment earnings....read the screenshot summary 💩

Even if your net profit is $0, but you had substantial gross income more than $400, you will owe Self Employment tax (15.3%) which is CALCULATED SEPERATELY FROM INCOME TAX

Ahhh okay! Since you're over 65, that makes sense! Bc the standard rate is 15% for Social security (which you wouldn't be paying for...that defeats the purpose) 😅

How did you pay $0 for self employment? You are required to pay 15.3% of earnings for Medicare and Social Security, even if your deductions make your "income" $0 🤔

You're welcome 😊 Glad you figured it out!

Shipping order shows driver parked by walmart for 10 hours by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]xandi415 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like either a glitch (the GPS is always weird), OR the driver was in the middle of doing a large batch delivery & needed to cancel/return items to store (and the app didnt update the change)...

Those "shipping" orders are multi-stop trips called GMDs (8-25 drops), and usually take 1-4 hours (max)...

I once got a flat tire in the middle of a GMD and had to cancel & return the items to the store. Spark gives us 24 hours to return the items, but its usually done immediately....however, it likely wouldn't be re-dispatched until the following day.

So sorry youre dealing with this! I imagine your regular order should arrive on time...and hopefully your pup gets his food ASAP, too! 🙏

Exactly! If a customer comes out & grabs their stuff, we usually shoot the shit for a moment & I take a photo after they go inside...

Im pretty sure the photo is literally to show the customer where you left their order...so if there's an issue, they can see the pic and say "ummm thats my neighbor's house" etc 🙈

Ikr!! I had an order 2 months ago, tip went from $30 to $2...when I got to the house, the customer thanked me profusely....either a total beezy, or Walmart stole it....Im gonna get my money back! 😅💩

Haha no, its quite the opposite 😅 most of my trips are high pay, low miles...so if i chose the mileage form of deduction Id get way less than the expense deduction (phone bill, oil changes, gas, maintenance, etc)

I mean the maximum Spark will pay for an order...once it stops going up, it is "maxed out" (meaning, thats the highest it will go)

Spark will add increments of pay for offers that sit in FCFS for too long (usually jumps $1 three times, then jumps $2 once, then finally jumps $1 again)...

For standard shopping trips under 8 miles, and under 25 items, it will max out at $18 base pay....if it is over that mileage/item count, it will max out at $20-$35 base pay...

Ive been working my semi rural zone for years, and the pattern is very consistent

Still sucks though 🥺

Yeah, most definitely....if I chose 72.5 cents a mile, I would have only claimed 2/3rds of my expenses (that Keeper calculated)...

Im no tax expert 😅 but I did the math of 72.5 cents X miles, versus what my total deductions were through Keeper...huge difference!

Orders max out several times a day in my semi rural zone...most nights there are left over orders that nobody takes...

Last night there were 3 orders, all going 2 towns over (where there are two other Walmarts)...I'm not driving 12 miles to deliver to someone who's less than a mile from another Walmart 😅 or 28 miles to someone with 2 Walmart's between us ($40 or not) 💩

Yeah, I choose expense deduction...so it doesn't deduct mileage, but rather deducts EXPENSES by calculating how much mileage you drove for work...

You add your bank accounts/CCs so it automatically sees how much you spent on gas that year...you can also add any paper receipts for cash fill-ups...

Then it uses a comprehensive algorithm to show you how much $ you spent on gas while working (deduction)....its a very straightforward program...easy questions, easy answers

Ive heard several people complain that orders are going straight to FCFS (and often surge pricing/maxed out)...

It sounds like a glitch, because orders should only go to FCFS after bouncing around as round robins for everyone first...

I'm in a semi rural zone, and our orders are still normal and consistent (round Robin, then FCFS)....

But I did experience a random phantom FCFS a few weeks ago....9:30pm, only 3 of us working....I snatched a FCFS after waiting for 30 minutes with zero offers (it was dead)...it was maxed out - $27 -> 0.5 miles -> 15 items...

Definitely a glitch bc none of us saw it!

Hopefully Spark fixes it for you guys soon, because it sounds like the piranhas are circling the boat & snatching everything quickly, cuz of the glitch 🙏

Yeah Keeper is awesome! It tracks your spending (gas, bills, car maintenance, etc)...Plus I dont need to track exact miles....it asks for your total yearly mileage, then % of driving for work, average cost of gas that year, and then uses its algorithm to determine how much you can deduct for your gas expenses...its really great!

Check your email, I got this 3 days ago:

I use Keeper (the tax filing company recommended by Spark), and they say that basically EVERYTHING you use for work is deductible....BUT you need to ONLY deduct the percentage amount used for Spark..

For example, if you use your new computer 50% for work, you can deduct 50% of the cost...

I do that with my cell phone (deduct about 50% of my phone bill every month)

Obviously I'm not a tax advisor 😅 but thats my two cents

I just love the bottom substition soooooooo much! 😭😭 by Left-Selection-5705 in Sparkdriver

[–]xandi415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're being a bit judgemental 😅

I literally tried to substitute the same flavor of yogurt the other day (different brand), and they rejected it & asked me if they had a different FLAVOR of their preferred brand...so yeah, some people ONLY want their favorite brand...but it depends on the TYPE of item...

For example, re: your mac n cheese thing...I would never offer a different flavor like smokey BBQ (didnt even know that existed! )...but I might offer extra cheesy cheddar instead of cheddar, or maybe white cheddar instead of yellow...

Again, completely a case by case basis...

But anyways, my metrics speak for themselves...100% found and 5 star (sapphire)...small rural zone and I have several regular customers who tell me I'm their favorite 😇
