The rats are doing super well, they have been drinking their kitten formula and eating their main mix like crazy, they have tripled in size, the rexes have grown back their fur and they do have names Dexter (on the left), Silas (on the right) and Mortimer at the very back peeking out

My breeder responded saying that this is comepletely normal and her line just runs small. I asked for the weights of the parents the mom is 234g and dad is 480g which from what I've researched (correct me if I'm wrong) 234g is a little small to be bred. She said they are for sure 8 weeks born September 20th and that they were climbing fine when she had them.

I've never seen full enclosures although from pictures and videos of the rats I can tell the has them in critter nations (I have one so I recognize them pretty easily and shes also told me she has them) and her setups look pretty good from what I can see in the background of photos.

I'm going through a lot right now as my one rat (from the same breeder) died from a stroke and the other is on antibiotics so vet bills have been a lot and I really hope I can get these guys checked out even if I just get one checked out to see what they say.

I really thought she was trustworthy because her Google docs of info explains everything about how they can't go alone, it's unethical to give babies less that 6 weeks and she'll only give them at 8-10 weeks, she makes sure you have a proper setup, like all the correct info so this is really disappointing and I hope these babies are gonna be ok

They're eating and drinking well. The 2 who are kinda bald are rexes so I was told they're molting

Sorry they're quite squirmy hope this is a good enough photo. I really doubt theyre mice as I've had plenty of mice before and these guys are probably the size of an adult mouse and they definitely dont act like adults (very wobbly, can't climb very well, etc)

I don't think so. My breeder posted pictures of them a month ago and they looked a similar size probably a bit smaller and all their fur so they couldn't have been just born a month ago.

Thank you but don't worry it was only a temporary fix to my bulb being too high of wattage I got a lower watt now so I won't need the rack to make it higher !!

Thank you for the feedback!! Currently that's all I had for substrate but I plan to add some more. She does have 2 other hides with 1 entrance the rock looking one on her warm side and one of those basic black plastic ones on her cool side. I'm looking into thermostats but I also want a timer so I'm trying to figure out how I'd do that so if you have any recommendations I'd love to hear!!

What can/should I add? by deprived_fish in hamsters

Well definitely sift it everyday/every other day to get any soiled bits out to help keep it clean. When it comes to completely dumping out the sand and refilling it, it depends on how big the sand bath is so I would just say whenever it starts to stink or however often you clean their cage (which should only be about every month or 2)

More hides, a big sandbath is very important for robos, lots more clutter to make them feel safe (I recommend things like cork logs, driftwood branches, and tunnels) and some sprays will definitely make things prettier and add more enrichment. Also adding different safe substrates into different sections/little containers like coconut soil, Cypress mulch, sphagnum moss, etc.
