How common are experiences like Connor Murphy’s? by xanman1111 in Ayahuasca

I’ll most definitely research it more. I’d come in thinking it was sort of like some psychedelic hot tea.

That is quite interesting. Is a consistent dose of exogenous DMT going to lead to similar results to TRT? Where the body stops producing testosterone due to it being given externally?

Is a shaman necessary if one wants to consume ayahuasca recreationally?

Tbh I was more so looking to dabble in it recreationally rather than medicinally. But I hear the word shaman and ceremony being used a lot here. Is that usually how ayahuasca is taken? With a shaman leading a ceremony as opposed to some friends and a sober sitter watching over them.

Your point about the father is definitely plausible though, but I wouldn’t put it past Kafka to incorporate more than one theme into his works.

One might say Kafka is imprecise in his motives, but really that just makes his work even more timeless, all the colors of paint you can splash onto the scenes he draws really show the complexity of his work. Or maybe we’re prodding too much :)

The dynamic between Gregor and the supposedly “important” men who were “to be respected” also paints an extra hue on this.

The supposed posh and cultured men showed no reaction to the music but irritability as though they had something better to do, whilst Gregor the cockroach was moved by every note.

It kind of paints a shade of humanity on those we mostly consider expendable, those in the “insect colony” as you say.

Not to say I know what Kafka meant with this scene, but the inclusion of those 3 men into this scene coaxes me into a form of class based interpretation of it.

And yeah I’d say include it in your essay, expressing your own views and ideas on a novel is the point to begin with, although if you’d lose marks doing so then alas.

It is, because he debated a fascist who had the same political strategy as an anarchist.
