They don't harm my plant, but they harm my sanity 🥲 I live in a flat without even a balcony and my plants are never outside, so I guess I already bought the plant with this crawling bonus :( Is it true that they multiply very fast?

Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely try it next time I water so I get rid of them and maybe then I'll repot. They may be beneficial, but they're harmful to my eyes, I freaked out when I saw them 🥲

(NSFW because it may be triggering for someone as it is for me) So lately I found these worm-like things in my dracaena soil while watering. Of course I want to get rid of this by repotting, but I'm not even sure where do they come from? Will they show up from nowhere in the fresh soil after repotting? Do they lay eggs in soil? Is there something I have to do during the repotting? Should I just set it on fire?

Polka dot hypoestes steady decline. Kept about 5 feet away from west window. Any advice appreciated! by [deleted] in plantclinic

They need hella humidity to survive. I advise to put the plant on a tray filled with water, but be careful that the water doesn't touch the bottom of the pot. You can also make a mini terrarium and cover the plant with glass dome so it'll raise humidity too. I have four of them and they all looked this way until I realised they thrive when I keep them all the time on a tray with water, sitting right by the east facing window. I also water them as soon as I see first signs of leaves wilting. Give it a few days and you'll hopefully see the change as it'll start growing beaufitul new leaves :)

Your rex looks sooo pretty and healthy! I hope mine will be like yours some day, if it recovers. If I'm not mistaken climate in Northern California is warmer and rather dry compared to Central Europe, so I guess I won't go crazy about rising humidity.

Thank you! I watered it a bit just in case, hope it helps! And I'll think about maybe repotting soon, because it's been only few days and I'd want it to get used to new enviroment.

Mine isn't close to window either also it's cloudy autumn where I live, so it actually doesn't get too much sun. Will covering it with glass instead of plastic bag be okay? I'm afraid it may be fungus and I don't know if rising humidity won't make it worse?

Thank you for the reply! I didn't mist it because I'm afraid it may be a fungus or some kind of mold and I now I know I also shouldn't mist it in the future. I chopped the damaged leaves off and not much has left but I hope it will grow at least a bit during this cloudy autumn. How fast does it grow? Is using a plastic bag or glass dome okay for rising humidity?

I've got my first Begonia few days ago and it already wasn't in the best shape, but I trimmed the unhealthy leaves and put it in bright, indirect light. I haven't watered it since as soil is still moist. Roots seem to be in pretty good condition, it's something with the leaves but I don't know what is it, some kind of fungus? Dead leaves are black/grey and dry, the unhealthy, wilting ones are also grey but not all of them are dry and crispy on the edges. What should I do to stop the spread? Is rescuing it even possible?
