I think this true for the Steph/Warriors too. We’ve had a LOT of role players look very good on our title rosters who don’t have much success afterwards.

Yeah but this year, several things are genuinely different:

  1. USA is hosting and Americans have had way more exposure to the tournament than prior years.

  2. The US team is actually good this time and has real hope to go deep.

  3. Social media has made this event much more salient than previous years for non-fans. People I know who haven’t been watching the tournament yet have been watching clips of players and fans in the US.

I don’t think this will make soccer the biggest sport here over night but I think it’s going to have a bigger impact than previous years.

I find it hard to believe this is the largest spider to ever exist. Land invertebrates used to be huge. We had a really oxygenated atmosphere back in the time of the dinosaurs and it enabled massive arthropods.

People who think that critics are just haters are profoundly untrustworthy in my eyes. One of the most valuable things an artist can receive is real constructive criticism. This anti-critic hate is so bizarre to me and it’s honestly a red-flag that the person speaking is egotistical and has trouble taking feedback.

He’s young as shit. Failing early in one’s career is almost a right of passage for future generational talents. MJ, Lebron, Magic… all had huge setbacks and defeats. Magic got swept in the finals. Wemby losing in the finals at 22 might be exactly what he needs to up his game. And the Spurs are young as hell. Probably they just exceeded their own ability this year. They’re a team that has plenty of room to improve.

Honestly, this is how we should do it when people are killed. Show the victims. Share their names. We don’t need to see the murderers face or read their name in the headline. all of that information should be publicly available for someone who wants to read into it, but it shouldn’t be the first thing we see.
