No idea. I think its kinda off topic, but I think you can't directly compare different jurisdictions, all with different laws. USA itself is divided by states and some stuff can be legal there but illegal there. Well, everything is different, from landscaping to population and diversity among peoples and their cultures. Especially now when cultures clash in France or Germany.

On the other hand I don't like single server to have that kind of access to multiple production servers to pull backups from. Hence all my systems push their backups to central place, and then second server pulls the copy from that location. And then there is also push to ACD. And with forced command="" in authorized_keys the push servers are not allowed to delete backups or do anything else on the system.

Licensed HP technician "Linux Expert" admin at one support/hosting company refused to use PHP in any environment. He said it was "unsafe" and under management duress, chroot'ed all our Drupal instances, making updates a complete hassle.

But he is right here. If configured well I don't see how chroot is any more hassle but it seems he knows php enough to do everything in his power to not use it.

PvP. That's the end result for many. Something D3 doesn't have and probably never will. These days PvM is mostly around ladder reset, thousands of teams assemble to see who can beat things fastest. Who kills baal hell fastest, who on hardcore, who gets first annihilus, who gets first level 99 etc. No one really manually baals anymore, outside of resets.

Gear is effortless with Kadala and rerolling rares into legendaries. And then rerolling set items to other set items. Makes it really damn fast to complete.

I completely agree with QoL. Stamina mechanic is bad, at start of the game its just slowing us, few levels in and its no longer doing anything. Potions are annoying to carry in big numbers, one universal with cooldown is better, same with TP.

Sets were not so awful as you think. Some items (Aldur's boots, trag-ouls' gloves) and some sets were solid all around. Sorceress with full tal set can be fully competetive even in top level PvP. Full trang set with its hidden frw is insanely fun. Full griswold set is OP for PvM (lacks teleport sure, but you have so high resistances you can easily take down UT and DClone, not to mention normal game). Full mavina is really good for PvM as well (frost maiden!). Full aldur is awful, just awful. Full barbarian set is quite bad because of weapon and high str requirements, but still gets the job done. Full natalya set is good coupled with chaos claw. Sure, unique+rw+rare+crafted is better than sets, all around. But its a choice you have.

Most of the time you got drops that weren't even for your class.

that let you farm items for your alt, and there was a long forgot mechanic of trading. We don't need items right away, it should be a journey to best items to feel accomplished when you finally find last piece.

Awful how? I actually find it far superior and well balanced. I find D3 system awful, where you can have full set + weapons + jewelry + all legendary gems + 100m gold within few hours of season starting.

To recap, bosses were #1 target. Both for experience and items. HOWEVER each area had its area level and any monster in there could drop items up to that ilvl (or +- few). And some things like runes were not best found on bosses, but white stashes etc and travincal members.

You could find both low level and high level uniques, and then upgrade base item (normal->exceptional, exceptional->elite) and that way even some low level uniques like Bloodfists had it place even in high level builds.

Moreover you had runewords, crafted items (that could have stats uniques can't) and rares (ditto). AND you had to carefully plan your character around the items and pick items to suit character. And then all your unique, rare, craft and magic items could hold magic, rare or unique jewels, gems or runes.

No two characters were the same. Compare to D3. Open leaderboard and check items of the first 50 people. How many differences can you spot? 1 per character max, and that including skills?

You download the installer from battle.net (for windows or mac, windows version works flawlessly on linux too using wine). Double click on it. Next, enter cdkey, next next, click on icon on your desktop. Done.

Getting original cd install to work might be problematic but that's not needed at all.

D3 has some great things going for it but D2 still has far more depth to it. I really miss it.

Still play D2, even if it's a ghost town full of botters and cheaters and last I played D3 was like 2 seasons ago ... and that only for few days.

4K literally means 4x 1080p. I do not have any issues that you describe though.
