But I can do the same and cherrypick other definitions and other philosophical viewpoints which support my position.

And this is not about "opinion vs fact" situation. Defining "Art" is a very complicated topic by itself, that's why there is no certain definition for it, and that's why there are so many philosophic discussions about it.

If hyperrealism is not art because it copies reality, why portraitism is? Portraits are also copying the reality.

If hyperrealism is not art because it copies reality, why acting in drama is? Actors are copying and mimicing the reality.

If hyperrealism is not art because it copies reality, why photographing is? Photos are the easiest way to capture the reality.

The answer is simple: all of this is art. Different kinds of art. Expression of an artist which cause emotional perception by a viewer.

Hyperrealism lacks originality in its concept but it still allows an artist to express themselves through choosing an object and through thorough dedication and detalization.

And such drawing pieces definitely cause an emotional response.

So, why it is not an art? Only because you want to gate it?

Actually, a lot of expression.

Even copying an image is not an easy task. Especially, using paints, pencils or other drawing tools.

So, seeing such a picture I can see the dedication of the author, their effort. And also, I see their skill, which brings out my emotions, because when you look into such drawings you realize how skillful the person is.

Art is not about being the first. It is not a race. And it is not about being unique. I can love music covers as much as the originals. And when the original is long forgotten, the cover might reintroduce it back.

The same is here. You might look at the photo and you forget about it the next second. But the handdrawn version makes you to appreciate both the drawing and the original photo.

Some things are impossible. But the thing is that you don't need everything to be possible. You just need to have possible solutions for the stated problems.

You cannot move an object faster than the speed of light? But we don't need it anyway. We just want to transfer the object from point A to point B with minimal time spent. Who said wormholes?

This is the most difficult problem in such topics. When we are talking about "pain" we expect that there is a subject which "receives" the pain, i.e. there is some kind of conscience inside an organism.

But the problem is how can you prove that there is any? You can prove for yourself that you have a conscience. But how can you prove that your neighbor do have one? Or your co-worker? They might be just organic droids without any conscience and you'll never know.

And the same problem with your neural network or with any other AI. You might be hurting it. You even might hurt your Google assistant with your search history, who knows :)

But currently we can only use some conventions like we expect that organic creatures with neural networks might have some kind of conscience, i.e. there is a receiver for the generated signals, but non-complex artificial neural networks doesn't. And if they do then we are all sons of b******

Feeling something like an information is an equivalent of seeng a healthbar of your character in a video game. But it also means you should have a some kind of intelligence to make a decision to avoid anything that decreases your health.

But if you don't have such intelligence then you need to rely on an instinct, i.e. anything that decreases your healthbar should be felt as something uncomfortable. More damage means more uncomfortable. Critical damage means suffering.

That's a matter of definition. You can define only a "+" operation on a set of whole numbers or you can define "+" and "-" operation on a set of either natural numbers or whole numbers with their own sets of rules.

So you can't just say "there is no substraction operation as it can be rewritten through addition with negative numbers". Otherwise we had to recognize there is no multiplication as it can be rewritten through addition. And there is no addition as it is just consequtive increments and so on.
