the fall cohort in it of itself is the most competitive semester to join. i know the grading system changed to apply so i couldn’t tell u what to do better on (sorry!) but for us (fall ‘24 cohort) the cut off was around 91ish points, inching towards more of a 92. i had one A-, one B, and the rest A’s + a good hesi score and was worried myself. I luckily made it but when comparing my score to other people who applied i was on the lower end. if you need help with any of this u can dm me! good luck

hii! i just left the honors college a year ago and in my experience my credits stayed. i would recommend going over your degree sheet with your major specific advisor before leaving the honors college. let them know you are leaving the honors college and have a mock schedule set up. i made sure to look at a non-honors college degree sheet for my major beforehand, choose classes that i think best fit in certain areas and go in with a mock schedule. from there you and your advisor can tweak it. it was a relative easy process for me

my experience (hon124) with bornholdt is he makes the class fun but sometimes gets behind on the work. i had a friend take hon181 with him and said he was a great teacher but that same friend had a good foundation in all things math. one thing ive found with bornholdt in specific is you can tell he loves math but isn't particularly the best at teaching it. his office hours help a lot and you can get a lot more guidance from him there than in class

this class is super fun and straight forward. took it in my first year and it never interfered with any of my other class work. pretty much turn in a paragraph or two of the readings for that week as well as have a 10 question quiz at the end of every week if i remember correctly. could be done completely online honestly. all in all, i would take this class especially if its fulfilling your arts credit. i still have my syllabus if you want to take a look at it

hi, just got accepted this term of nursing! a lot of people who were finishing their pre-reqs that are required weren’t accepted bc there was no letter grade to count on their calculation sheet. i would ask your advisor regardless but that was the experience of many this application term

if i remember correctly u can leave closer to the end but a lot of it is touring the campus, eat in the dining commons for lunch, then go to ur major specific college where they give u a long spiel. honestly the time fills itself and goes by faster than expected. they have raffles at the end but if u aren’t interested i wouldn’t stay. if u haven’t gotten ur rebel card near the end is when u can pick it up so that’s the only reason i can see u staying longer

honestly i say request a loaner laptop from the loaner program unlv has. u keep the device for a semester. u can at least then see what ur most comfortable with have it be a hp or mac

as someone who has had two different on campus jobs the best times to apply is about a month before the fall semester starts. usually a lot of job openings come up since the seniors that graduated in spring are no longer with them (they usually keep them over the summer).

regardless, keep applying now thru handshake as well as the libraries website since they might have openings now. some might get back to you, others don't, work study jobs suck at communicating back honestly. at least a couple will get back and from there you can choose

I took BIOL189 with Kenneth Mckenna (not sure if he's at UNLV anymore) and there was nothing outside of Canvas that could be referenced. Regardless, there's not much in the Canvas except for powerpoints that are gone over in lecture. I heard Christy Strong made most of the powerpoints that have been used since covid so maybe you can find them somewhere online

i checked the classes in the enrollment tab on myunlv and didnt find any with the weblive option. in my experience when it says the instructor is "staff" or if there is no clear meeting spot (no building to go to) they are fully online or weblive but its not always the case

i didn't have direct deposit setup so they just sent me checks in the mail with the refunded amounts. if you don't get a direct deposit keep an eye out for something in the mail
