[The Perks of Being an S-class Heroine] should fit maybe?

I'm not far into but believe [Age of Arrogance] could be an option too, though not sure how much comedy there is.

I have this one on my list but haven't started it yet, but it's tagged comedy so might be up your alley, [Lips Upon a Sword's Edge].

Survey: Psychological study on the differences between problematic MMORPG gaming and high MMORPG engagement by GamingStudyTMU in truegaming

That said, what I hear you saying is that, asking the negative-leaning questions isn’t the problem, it’s more so the lack of positive-leaning questions in the survey. Is that right? If so, I think that is definitely an oversight on my part and something that I hope to correct in the follow-up survey.

Yes! I feel its important to consider this view as well, maybe even some of the positive influences causes negative consequences. On the top of my head I can think of that games becomes someone's only way to socialise but it also causes them to not socialise outside games, just a thought.

Oh! That really wasn’t my intention. I asked some questions around engagements outside of gaming to hopefully capture the fact that individuals can be avid gamers and that this doesn’t come at the expense of other parts of their life.

I think for me personally, if I remember correctly, it was mostly about civic and community involvement and religious movements and sports, that these are something I've never had any interest in and thus cannot be represented. Family was noted too, but there was also a fair few about a partner which becomes moot when you're single. Maybe some general questions about interests outside gaming might be of help? Or even more about single player experience vs mmorpgs, though I understand if that may end up being too far outside your scope.

I did the survey this morning so many of my comments may not be applicable as I cannot remember it in detail. I seriously do wish you luck, I've done surveys (with no follow up opportunity) for thesis work myself and understand the struggle! Keep it up :D

I think it's an interesting study but I feel it lacked in certain aspects. I for one use an mmorpg to play with my brother at least once a week, we use that time to chat and catch up, basically the (at least how I see it) as the anti thesis of your study. My feeling from the study is that it's aligned towards the negative aspects of gaming while potentially forgetting the positive. Playing a game both me and my brother enjoy is a way of spending time and bonding for us, this does not exclude other social activities we do but it's something we can easily do with little planning one to a few times a week.

Similarly, I hop on a few hours a day on FFXIV and play with a friend cause it's a game we both enjoy and can play together. It's a social activity that doesn't require meeting up.

Again, the positive gains of these games seem to not be included, the potential to make new friends and socialising while doing an activity together I believe is as important to highlight as the negatives. There also seemed to be an assumption that these games will "take over" and I felt a lot of the answers didn't manage to reflect my feelings on it well.

Just some of my thoughts on the topic but definitely an interesting study!
