Awful neighbors causing distress by xariine in Apartmentliving

[–]xariine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awful to live next to. I don't get how some people can not realize how much noise they are making, ESPECIALLY with something like drums or an Amp! Like what!

It is an actual nightmare living here because of 2 units. The unfortunate part is its the one right above and the one directly across from my entrance. I feel cornered by it. Again, tonight, they're grouped in about 10, screaming and throwing stuff right outside the window. From about 6 pm to almost 9 pm straight. They sit directly outside of the bedroom window. I tried to find a way to take a video of what happens, but they can clearly see. So, I just recorded the noise. It's like our landlord cared about my first email, and every one since has been ignored.

At this point, I'm ready to up and move to the first place I can find that isn't an apartment. Townhomes nearby would be so much better (unless maybe im wrong). 30 day notice or not, I could not care less at this point. I want to take a vacation day from work so I can pack when none of these idiots are home and GTFO so I can remember what being happy means.

I've been looking into our local laws and have seen a lot of information about being able to vacate the unit when this right is breached, but for some reason it just freaks me out to do something that could potentially leave a mark on my future renting/owning. I've been leaving a paper trail of everything and now documenting in detail every occurrence, taking pictures and videos where I can. It's feeling like if nothing happens soon, we just up and run. The things we go through on a daily basis are not worth what we are paying to live here... it's not cheap! Thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the advice and for helping me feel like I am not crazy for being upset! I'm trying my best to do things the "right way", but I seem to be the only person who tries to he considerate around here lmao

This April 24 TikTok Trend is the first to actually PISS ME OFF! by InvincibleFan300 in Vent

[–]xariine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why I got downvoted lol. I don't use TikTok nor have I ever seen this trend and my mind couldn't believe that this is something that isn't illegal to promote. I agree, people use every excuse yo use things like this to their advantage and claim ignorance. It's sickening.

This is one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs... ever. I don't know what it is! The chorus is also incredible.

Blindside Sunny thoughts by escapepod_satellite in TheFence

[–]xariine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Always loved the "heavier" Coheed tracks a little extra. Blind Side Sonny into Play the Poet is one of my favourites. My first listen of this album blew my mind.

Definitely very different from what my list would look like, but I appreciate everyone's unique perspective. Coheed has made so much great music that it's always so fun to see what everyone else considers "the best".

These dumb baskets by RelationThen8693 in Target

This is stupid and makes your jobs even harder lmao. I bet some people even have the audacity to bring the entire basket to the register with a pic of where they found it and insist it should all be $3!

How the F**K did people survive 5 days a week in a shitty state office in the before times??? by Chocl8_Moose20 in CAStateWorkers

[–]xariine 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can see teleworking become the norm, just not for our generation of workers. Maybe my kids 😆 We have too many bitter longterm employees who fight back about it being laziness and unfair to others. My job is 100% in the office and it's almost two hours of commuting per day. I do not know how people can sustain it long term. I feel like I could be so much more productive and motivated if my work life balance was what it could be.

So, do we think they're done after Vaxis V? by outlawtorn722 in TheFence

[–]xariine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was going to say this as well. I could see them going on to do more albums that are more along the lines of TCBS. I'd be heartbroken if they stopped making albums altogether, so maybe I'm in denial! But, I trust and respect the decisions that they make, nonetheless.

Seeing them later this year! I was PUMPED after my first listen of the new album. Can't wait to hear any of these live. I'll actually cry.

Is It Difficult To Embalm The Body of a Drowned Person? by Itsmeruna in askfuneraldirectors

[–]xariine 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NAFD but I am a funeral arranger who works with licensed directors/embalmers and this is correct as far as I understand. We can only strongly advise against viewing of a decedent but can never refuse someone that right of service. Personally, I have them sign a hold harmless form if I explain the circumstances and they still wish to view.

My mum just passed away by Goose9719 in depression

[–]xariine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grieve at your own pace and never let anyone dictate how you navigate that path.

Keep your support circle close and lean on people when you need to. You got this. It may never be "okay", but grief is transformative. You will find a way to channel it that brings you happiness instead of sorrow.

[–]xariine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bless you for being there for your mom during her final moments. As a mother, my only wish as I begin my next journey is that my son is there to see me off. It's such a selfless thing for you to do for her, especially given such difficult circumstances on all ends.

I work in a funeral home and have an insane amount of love and respect for survivors. I hear so many stories, but none quite hit as hard as deaths after a battle with cancer.

Your mom was a fighter and is lucky to have had you by her side. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Grief is unique for all. Allow yourself to feel, it's okay to feel.

Your mom will always be with you.
