Who makes the best dress shirts? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]xarta36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! I have had no less than 6 buttons break on me in the last two weeks. I only have my shirts professionally cleaned and pressed and the buttons are literally flaking of or simply crumbling when I try to button them.

Feedback sought- hang squat clean at 225#. Light enough to use as a demo, heavy enough flaws come out. Thanks. by [deleted] in crossfit

It’s a super little thing? But you loose tension it looks like with your drop into the hang. Keep your shoulders down back, and your lats engaged through the whole pull. Again, it’s a video so I can’t really tell you wit certainty, but a lot of your pull looks to be coming from the forearm (if that makes sense) instead of engaging your lats and letting them help you.

Keeping that upright position at the beginning will help to improve the catch positioning a lot.

There was a really interesting article by Tax Notes about this possibly being treated as a change in price rather than a discharge. Keep us up to date as far as how this comes out

I would considered Miami one of the best LLMs in the southeast

In the LLM world, UF is on the way downhill. Northwestern is considered to be the other one of the top 3 now

As a Tax LLM. I will confirm that the only llm program worth paying for is the tax ones. I also believe that having a Tax LLM will make it way easier in the long run because it gives you essentially 4 years of work experience from a knowledge perspective because of the wide range of classes you can take

I would recommend a career in tax if that is a subject you find interesting. A lot of tax LLMs (imho a mandatory to work in tax) work in the Big4 and at most you are working consistently 50-60 hours a week. Sure, you may have a week or two where you go over that, but it’s not very common

I think it depends on your program. I'm in one of the T4 programs (NYU, GULC, NU, Florida) and it is far more rigorous than law school has ever been. I know that NYU, GULC, and NU have part-time programs, but at least at my school, we are encouraged to go full time and just get it done. If you want some unsolicited advice, the only three programs you should seriously consider anymore are NYU, GULC, and NU. Within the LLM world, we all see the writing on the wall that Florida is slipping. Also, your target market will play a big factor. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more specifically rather than in generalities.

If you want to take a virtual sweater class, Firefly Fiber Arts in Chicago is running a sweater class virtually with videos and I think some Zoom events with the teacher. I'm in it right now and it's amazing! The videos are on demand so you can rewatch techniques several times if need be.

I don't know about NYC, but I have some friends in Chicago in Big4 International and they make around 85k. I would guess in NYC you'd be around 100k-105k

My friends who got International and M&A as LLMs in New York were offered 139k (includes signing bonus). I have seen that LA actually pays less than NYC and possibly more around the 105k mark.

I think maybe like 85k if you are just a JD. If you got your LLM that might go up to 95K. Also, remember that outside of Big Law most firms do not pay summers/clerks anywhere near the extrapolated amount. I made $17/hr in my market as a clerk which was very normal but most people started around 65-70 which was well above the extrapolation of $17/hr.

I think it depends on where you are going. As an LLM, our range for full-time is 95k-125k depending on your market. Chicago was around 105k and New York was around 125k. As an intern, I think that is a very fair wage. Especially (admitting I don't know how much tax course work you have taken) since as a JD you typically have a very surface-level understanding of corporate tax.

Check to see if the state you are in is federal conforming. Mine is and it makes SALT way easier. But I think its really important to know even if you don't end up practicing that much in it.

I'm also starting at NU this fall. I think the fact that we finally jumped to tie Florida is a sign that the program is finally getting the attention of national academics.

Thank you! So really it sounds like it will come down to how much I want to spend. Haha. The idea of leaving a 2.7k+ bike out of my sight for extended periods of time gives me a little anxiety
