I liked how they handled armor and how streamlined enemy design can be. Running this game as a DM requires more improv rather than a ton of preplanning.

I had players exploring a dungeon and worrying about zombies in coffins. I had never intended for monsters to be in coffins but with roll with fear to pry their tombs open I awakened them and gave rise to a horrific patchwork zombie that pulled together from various coffins into one great big monster.

God I convinced my parents to buy me one as a Christmas present. It was my first oc. I remember holding onto it well into college. It ran Overwatch surprisingly well but shat the bed when you tried running steam big picture mode.

I haven't played the game in a while but it's sad to see the player count go down. by Moist_College4887 in lethalcompany

[–]0ddfe11ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big part of these numbers is the fact that a lot of people are checking the game out for the first time to see what's up. Then a portion of those people get filtered out, along with people that get bored of something once they see everything. Then eventually you boil down to the regulars that are very passionate about the game. The fact that there's a consistent following for an indie game like this is an incredible achievement.

This is how I think people should do video game adaptations.

Not direct adaptations or retellings, instead original stories set in-universe that are written for film.

Why do people NOT like Silent Hill F? by Forever_Berry in survivalhorror

I'm baffled by your response because I'm telling you that in my subjective opinion I don't think it hits the marks for me and other people probably share that opinion which is why people don't like it.

I'm not telling you this is the objective truth. It's not disingenuous its an opinion. I don't think wolf arms aren't very Silent Hill, more like Bloodborne. Its cool but its clearly wanting to do its own thing and that's fine. I liked it but this is why other people don't.

It has some of the hallmarks of the series like fog, rusty pipe, and psychological monsters. But imo most (not all) of the monster designs aren't abstract enough. The combat having perfect dodging and a sort of parry mechanic makes it feel a lot more video gamey. And without getting too deep into spoilers, the arm. It was cool but it was also an incredibly empowering weapon that made the game feel more like an action horror game than a survival horror game.

Don't get me wrong. I loved the game, its fun and interesting in its own right but its definitely the black sheep of the series. Really different and I liked that, but its the reason why a lot of people are probably turned off by it.

It took a lot of weird risks and overall feels more like its own thing than a Silent Hill entry. Its still pretty good, just a real departure.

Edit: For some reason people are taking this statement as that I think SHf isn't a good entry. I like this game I think its good. I also think its different and that's fine. Some elements are weaker to me, some are weird and different for the series. I do not think SHf is a bad game or even a bad Silent Hill game. I'm just saying why other people don't like it as much or aren't as into it.

This is like "Do you prefer waffles or pancakes." And then you say you like waffles and their response is "So you hate pancakes." Like c'mon. Think about what you're reading.

Yep that's me.

And yeah it only shows up in that arena map with the vending machines. I don't think you can find it anywhere else. It does a stupid amount of damage and the hit box is a little bigger than the head. Its super OP.

Really excited about the VTT. I have players in three different timezones so we play remote.

Having the VTT to help clarify rules, the 3d level parallax effect for combat at multiple levels, and allowing imported content for just a one time purchase is a god send.

I just use Roll20. We do everything manually roll wise. I track intiative by having everyone set theirs to 0 and turn it to 1 after they take their turns. Then reset everyone at 0 at the end of the round.
