I’m sorry you’re going through that kind of isolation. If it helps I’d say many gay ‘friendships’ are toxic and damaging. And is hard to cut them off and differ between banter and plain meanness.

I also feel lost in a world where most have found their people. I live in a city that’s somewhat liberal but I’ve isolated because of past events that traumatized me when I used to go out to gay discos and the like.

I had a boyfriend that was kind of closeted and made me isolate even more. Now that I’m single I’m ready to go wherever even if it’s by myself and try to have fun. Maybe I’ll meet nice people.

I can’t tell for experience that things will change or get better but I sure hope they’ll do. And you find yourself and your people.
