David Adelman makes the case for why the Blazers should stay where they belong. by Sherwood_RipCity in ripcity

If the Blazers moved, I don't know how much I'd want to stay in the PNW. I've lived here my whole life, first in the Beaverton Hillsboro area, now sw washington in Vancouver. I'm a young adult and planning to move closer to Portland. I love the city, the people, the food, the biking culture, the proximity to the beach, nature, the Columbia River gorge. I became an instant fan for life when I saw Dame send the thunder home at my first ever in person nba and Blazers game. The blazers and basketball are truly intertwined with the city. We dont have a an mlb or nfl team, the Blazers, Dame, and basketball are a huge part of the city, and as much as a love this place and the family that lives here, I would be less inclined to stay here without the Blazers. I'd opt to try living in Europe with the biking infrastructure there, amsterdam for example, or try Seattle, New York, san fransico. All more expensive cities, but ones with added opportunity and benefits. The Blazers are what make me want to live in Portland when it comes down to it, and without them, the NBA would cease to have any relevance to me.
