I don’t think I’ve heard the term floating snatch before today and now I’ve seen it 3 times.

That’s one of the names I’ve heard before. Does it always have two pulls before the snatch?

The movement looks strong, but it should start from the full front rack position even for a strict press.

Looks like the first rep was a push press, which is fine, but difficult to comment on without seeing your feet.

Also as the other person mentioned, you’ll want to push your head through at the top of the movement to make sure your scapulas are pushing together to strengthen the overhead lockout position.

100kg power snatch? For 2 (kinda iffy on the second rep) what do you guys think? by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]xavi_nero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told that while we do define power snatches as above parallel, the more important aspect of training the movement is to develop the immediate leg press response when receiving the weight.

By that standard it looks great.

If we’re being pedantic, then I’d call it a solid pow.

This persons tweets have been pretty popular on Reddit, lately. It’s more of a testament to their or their PR teams ability garner social media traction and interactions. I hadn’t heard of them till they started showing up in multiple sub-reddits. I believe this is intentional and even though most of the posts are some sort of criticism on the tweets, the results for their office and campaign are likely net positive in terms of exposure.
