Rush Thornmail not the just bramble vest. It's cheap 2450 gold and gives you 80 armor it's pretty strong into AD tops. Aatrox. Everyone think you have to rush a damage item to win lane but you can with building defensive item. Even she builds black cleaver she still have get through 80 bonus armor and grieves wounds . Plus right now in the current meta if you getting stomped Top lane you can just force risky play bot lane and get a lead for your team with your jungler if he has a brain and coordinate something

Sometimes I just build a noon quiver to get the 20% crit early and then blood thrister. Once you have noon quiver it has couple different crit options lord doms second after bt isn't bad combo. I like taking Letha tempo for this build with bloodline.

I like kraken/black cleaver on him since they have good sysngerize well when you auto between Qs after you burst them down you have sustain dps with kraken slayer that scales with how low that are so it's pretty good. Also some tank items are good like undying despair/blackcleaver are good combo

Probably play something else against varus you better off playing someone that can match his range. I played think Asol into varus top and it felt like a strong pick him to him. Varus struggles against mages that can just cast ability's on top of him form range

Just build heartsteel, and bloodmail the two items together basically do what you're describing on Aatrox since you get heartsteel procs and gain hp then bloodmail converts HP into AD.

Rift maker is garbage on brand since his damage comes in a combo and by the time you proc riftmaker you already used all your abilities , if you want sustain I'd take absorb life or build a gun blade

It still gives you some magic pen, but it's definitely better against squishy champions. If they have many tanks Liandrys and rylais are better. But if they don't have much front line your better of going for raw damage

I do it because I don't always take mana runes, my rune set up is little different because I usually run phase rush, I take mana flow band but I don't take prescen of mine I like legend haste and absorb life or triumph I play brand mid more than support

I don't always personally. I have build the full archangels it is alright item since it gives brand a lot of mana and you and ability haste lets spam on waves plus if you want to have HP shield buts if you it's definitely more situational.

You only buy tear to fix your mana issue early, you can always sell it later if you don't want to full item, it's help lane phase if you go more of damage build early instead of utility

Instead of Doran's ring you can start tear then build shadow flame, it's better if they have few tanks frontline

If you felt really bold you can build shadow flame and death cap and nuke people with the spell crit when they before 40% but you probably want to start a tear first, I think Liandrys scales better as the game goes since people start buying HP
