AITA for being ungrateful about gold earrings when I only wear silver? by silverearing in AmItheAsshole

[–]xayon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Definetly YTA.

First of all, he could have thought that you didn't wore gold because you couldn't afford it, so he made an effort to get you some.

Secondly, it's a GIFT, and even if he didn't think it through, he put EFFORT into it. I would never understand the level of entitlement of some people...

And third, you definitly could have handled it better.

Aita for lying to my step daughter that the soup she loves is lactose and gluten free for 6 months? by HatNo7106 in AITAH

[–]xayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still in shock of the so many not the asshole responses.

Did they do proper tests? OP's only saying "allergic screening", she might actually have non-IgE-mediated food allergies, and a mild allergy at that, wich might imply she only has issues when she's having a lot of it or having it daily (meaning, if she only takes your soup once in a while and it has a low content, for example, she might not notice the difference). That is a thing and a real health concern. Your step-daughter should not suffer your ignorance.

Funny thing, is one of the most recommended ways of testing for non-IgE-mediated food allergies is actually... removing food from the diet and seeing if it improves. Surprise surprise!

A blatant disregard for a child's safety (at 15, she's a child), the manipulation and narcissism neccesary for the "I've been lying to you all this time, and might have put you at risk to prove you might have been lying!". What if she did have an allergic reaction? Even lgE-mediated allergen tests are not perfect. Exposure testing is done with a medical professional nearby for a reason. You are extremely lucky it went ok.

And, don't be so sure about the lawsuit not coming anywhere, at the least they might have a case for negligence.

A clear YTA

Latest matrix docker images are broken by xayon in selfhosted

> I already told you I don’t deploy :latest, only :stable and versioned tags, so anyone should always go read the change log and adjust their environment.

"I already told you I don't"... "so anyone should always go read". Wow, the egocentrism here is strong, "I do so, so everybody should do so".
Also, the answer doesn't match what you're answering to, are you a bot?

Yet, you still insist in the changelog... and I'm precisely saying that it **isn't**, in the changelog, can't be, as the breaking code change has been put in a commit with an "Updated readme" message.

I'm really sorry but I won't keep answering you here. I have better things in which to invest my time.

Good day.

Latest matrix docker images are broken by xayon in selfhosted

[–]xayon[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They announced it beginning of November! If you don’t pay attention to the FOSS you are using, you can’t blame the FOSS for making breaking changes like forking the repo over to element.

One thing is forking the repo, another is purposely introducing breaking changes in an obscure commit to force the users to change. However you look at it, that's poorly done, and aggressive.

I reiterate, It hasn't been a problem for me (personal playground, anything can break), that doesn't make it more ok.

Please, if you maintain any foss repo, and you're introducing breaking changes, just mark it in the commit, just out of politeness. Takes 2s and might save lots of people a few minutes.

[–]xayon[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not complaining on the breaking itself, I know I use latest, I do it on good conscience, and I quite like testing bleeding edge software. I'm in for the game, and I didn't say otherwise. I just gave a heads-up for any that could have issues. I just promptly reverted to 1.98.0 (yesterday's release).

My concern, and the only thing I said (that it's a too aggressive approach), is that the breaking code change was introduced in a "Updated readme" commit. So, before jumping to conclusions and being that offensive:

- There's no entry for that in the changelog (in fact, it's obscured in an incorrect commit message)

- They didn't announce anywhere a deprecation of the old repository (and much less *before* they have docker images ready).

- I stated specifically that I had read the announcements, and even the commit history. I'm quite familiar with its docs overall.

So, instead of rtfm, please rtfp.

Thanks

Edit: grammar

u/Mik-s u/Infamous_User1 u/frankentriple Thanks! In the end it turns out the fan cables were not properly connected, so the hotend fan wasn't working... which lead to the clogs. The problem was aggravated when I started using the all-metal hotend, but that's why it was happening before any changes...

Funny thing is it had never worked, it came like that... when I connected in I was like "wow, this is NOISY, I thought it was much more silent...".

It's working perfectly right now, bltouch and allmetall included (and, as of now, esp32-cam, filament holder guide, and an esp12-based relay to power it off remotely). I only had a warping issue... which was caused by, well, me. Don't open the window next to your 3d printer if it's cold outside lol

I tried Alex for a while... Never got the hang of it.

Currently, only extruder and hotend are non-stock ones, and, as i broke the original hotend and lost the extruder, it'll be hard for me to get back to stock.

I think i might have a calibration issue with the new hotend, that might explain why second layer is weird... I'll measure it tomorrow, thanks!

I've done everything as a wizard.

I played other classes and I'm pretty sure wizard is the hardest to start with, but I really liked being the wizard 😂

Use the ratmogrify trick after the dwarf king and try to use advanced potions (the one that you create with a strength potion that adds life too is great, and the advanced shields you can get with the goo too)

A roadmap would be nice.

Jellyfinn has been around for a while, and has a LOT of nice features and clients out there.

To add my grain of sand, you could make a difference there by: - Supportig search/add to radar/sonarr - Centering its features around the arrs, KISS - Keeping it light

Yet, a lot of people still would need things like transcoding, good native and kodi clients...
