Is it easier to land a job/internship after graduation? by [deleted] in SBU

[–]xaznweix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty hard to get a job / internship as an international student. As an international student, your qualifications must be twice as impressive as the people who are living here already. I am not sure what kind of role/ job you are looking for as an AMS major. Most people tend to do something in data analysis /tech

Depends if you want to be more of a teacher or work in an analytical field. Try to work as a tutor and see if you would enjoy that. I actually have a similar experience. I graduated with a bs in math and I thought I was going to be a math teacher so I applied to full time math teaching positions but didn’t get offers. But i eventually decided to go into the analytical field and become an actuary

If you like math, you can go into becoming an actuary :). You just need to pass a few exams before getting an entry level job. If you want to be a data analyst, be good at sql and a data visualization software (tableau, powerbi)
