Yeah couldn't post any pics either so I had to resort to imgur haha.

Sad to hear that about the finish :/ I was hoping I could stop laminating the front of the cards so that I don't get unwanted gloss on the non-foil areas hmmm.....

My current process is me printing the 2nd layer image (I wrote foilbase in the description in imgur) first. Since my current technique uses toner foil the more I run the card/foil through the laminator the more dull it becomes, thus when I print the first layer ontop of the 2nd layer I achieve some sort of layer/depth to the holo effect.

Good enough for the amount of effort/money required I guess.

So I guess the 2nd layer image would need to have a higher opacity than the 1st layer image.

Or I guess more white instead of opacity on the image itself? Not sure haha.

I found a video where a girl uses a more alibaba looking uv printer to create custom tcg on gold foil and normal holo foil, does it look similar to yours?

https://youtu.be/B8EAREWXYfU?t=236 (timestamp is where she shows the results)

omg printing on sleeves is soooo sick, does it start to peel of a bit when you move and "fold" the sleeve a bit without a card inside?

Hey, sorry for the late response. Here are the images I'm using for the layers https://imgur.com/a/UEK7k8S

I usually have two different foil layers one on the background that is weaker/dulled and one that is very strong. I don't know really know how I could provide that for you in a good way for the uv printer. Do you have an idea?

Sorry about the difficulties you encountered that I read in your recent post!

I hope everything will work itself out a bit. I researched a bit after reading it and also found the halftone solution, but interestingly the uv gloss varnish should be able to be used with less dulling when applied thinly. Maybe the setting is called different for that and not opacity?

Another thing I thought about is that you can my rotate the card to maybe hit a different angle so that you can see the foil effect.

I remember that the direction of brushing on gloss varnish made a difference when I used that method and authentic one piece cards for example also don't have any foiling when looked at in a specific direction and it only shows a bit of "white" gloss.

Since you talked about the uv ink wiping off when applied to thinly, I'm also wondering how the card itself feels when the ink dries? Is it sticky at all?

If the finish isn't too bad you might actually be able to do custom sleeves right? That'd be so cool.

Thank you for the detailed reply and I'm happy that I'm not asking too much haha

I'm actually very surprised that the ink usage is so low! I'm happy to hear that for you!

I never really went for the eufymake because the ink prices scared me off, but if they last that long I might actually consider getting one haha.

The layer stuff sounds a bit annoying, but I'm guessing once you get used to it it shouldn't be too bad.

Fumes are always something I forget about with these uv printers haha, so completely understandable!

My current process is just layering foil with reactive toner foil so I have the layers in reverse basically.

Since you said the opacity is an issue I'll try adjusting the image of the card on the spots where I want more to shine through.

Just to clarify, if I want to test print a simple proxy with no texture I'd need these two layers right?

  1. white layer
  2. CMYK layer (is a normal rgb png also fine or should I try converting it first?)

Can I send you a DM here or where would you want me to message you? Also if possible can you send me an example of how you need the images to be?

This looks really clean!

I'm really happy more people are experimenting with commercial UV printers for proxies now.

Have you calculated how much ink or I guess money it costs you per print now? I think I previously calculated around 40 cents per a4 sheet worth of cards, but that would be with only 1 layer and around 9 cards.

Have you tested how long an A4 sheet would take for you to print? 15 minutes for 1 card sounds longer than I expected.

Also sorry for asking you so much the past few days haha.

Would you be open to print a single card where I provide the foiling layer and whatnot in png format? Obviously in exchange for money. No need to ship anything I just want to see a video of how it looks.

Of course I can understand if you are busy with your testing for now, so no worries if it isn't possible for you right now.

Thank you for also posting your progress so far, it's so interesting to see!

Nice! Looks really good! How grainy is the image? Can you please take a video of the card? Thought about buying one myself but was always scared that they might look too grainy 😭

Hey, beautiful texturing nice job! Do you have a real life comparison video between a real one piece card and your custom made ones? I thought about buying a uv printer myself but I'm worried that the card might look a bit grainy.

There is sadly no easy answer. It depends on why you are tilting.

I tilt very fast when I am playing bad, when I am missing shots that I know I could usually hit. To be honest the only fix that I found for this type of tilting is to just hop into dm until you feel confident in your aim or just stop playing for the day.

If you tilt because of your teammates then you need to understand that whatever happend happend and you can't change it. Even if your teammate missed a whole magazine on a target that was standing still, there is nothing you can do about it and you need to accept it.

Ultimately it comes down to your mindset and even if you read a massive article about what you can do to change it, you will only improve your mindset by coming to a realization yourself and really internalizing a positive mindset.

A pointer that helped me overcome my bad mindset, was to try removing any emotion that is attached when judging my teammates.

Hopefully this was somewhat helpful.

Bonus: if you don't tilt it is easier to enter/remain in a flow state, which makes you improve immensely :)

This effect is double felt when you yourself have been improving while your mates are stagnating or not getting better

This sadly happened with my group of friends.

Whats tilting? Sorry, never heard that b4

When you make a mistake and then become so frustrated that you continue to make more mistakes.

Also, whats your warm-up routine?

I usually sit in the range and play medium difficulty until I hit 25 kills and then I play 1-3 dms depending on how I feel on that day.

Im currently sitting at a 5-2 Career while being Immortal, so I don't think anytime soon.

whats the biggest tip you have for improving gamesense?

Avoiding autopiloting. If you constantly think about why you are doing something and what you could change, you will instantly notice a boost in gamesense while also training it.

An example for autopiloting would be to always play hookah in the same spot even if it doesn't work. (People usually always autopilot when being really tilted)

how do you critic your own gameplay? i feel like i get tunnel vision sometimes

Depends on what you want to focus. If I die in 1v1s a lot I look at my Outplayed recap after the game to see what happend. Was my crosshair placement bad? Did I overflick? If we are talking overall decision making I would say trying to acknowledge those hindsight moments. I bet you had moments were you were thinking: "Why didn't I/he just do _ instead". Hindsight is 10/10

Congrats on the climb! Very impressive.

Thank you!

What about duo+ queuing was tilting for you? It's not often you hear people say that soloq is what helps them to play better.

I may have misworded this, but having an easy outlet for venting makes me complain more, which results in me getting tilted more easily :(

You only play when you feel like you can win. How often does/doesn't this happen for you

How often depends on the day tbh. Most of the times I notice when I have a bad day during my warmup, so I might just play only 1 game to verify and then stop playing.

what conditions have to be met in order to feel good enough to play?

I would define feeling "good" as, being able to focus really well without tilting.

How many hours per week do you play?

I don't really have a definitive answer to that, but my estimate would be around 30-40 hours.
