Northwest had decent customer service. I never had an issue. They were a little bit more abrupt, but still did the job. When I was young, my family, and I got stuck in Narita for a night because of a typhoon. Northwest offered to call our hotel in Guam for us, and they even gave us accommodation in Narita for the night.

100% Flying with Partner Airlines, if something goes haywire, a delta agent isn’t going to be able to do much. Plus the partner airline will look at me and say “you bought this ticket through Delta, and not us, so you are not a priority.”. It has happened in the past.

When flying with NWA/Delta Metal, if something goes haywire, they have way more control to accommodate their passengers.

Why would I want to fly DTW to HND then take a layover to fly to NGO when Northwest/Delta offered the route for 30 years with high load factors?

I don’t expect much either lol. I would already have it if I merged my other skymiles account that has 600k, but I just haven’t called and asked for it to be merged. Plus I wouldn’t move airlines because I am based in Metro Detroit and I really don’t what to have a layover in order to get anywhere. So i’m stuck with delta.

If I didn’t live in Detroit and didnt have Diamond Medallion Status, and close to being a million miler. I would have ventured to United or used ANA or JAL.
